NYC COVID Ddviser brags in secret recording about drug-fueled sex parties mid-pandemic: ‘Had to be sneaky’:

New York City’s former COVID czar was caught on a hidden camera boasting about having drug-fueled sex parties mid-pandemic — and admitting New Yorkers would have been “pissed” if they had found out at the time.

 

Dr. Jay Varma — who served as senior health adviser to then-Mayor Bill de Blasio and was tasked with running the Big Apple’s pandemic response — made the confession in secretly recorded conversations with a so-called undercover operative from conservative podcaster Steven Crowder’s “Mug Club.”

 

“I had to be kind of sneaky about it … because I was running the entire COVID response in the city,” Varma was filmed telling the unidentified woman on Aug. 1 in what appears to be a restaurant.

The edited clips of the hidden camera footage, which were all recorded between July 27 and Aug. 14 in New York, were released by Crowder on Thursday. The Post has not reviewed the full, unedited recordings.



The identity of the woman Varma was speaking to — or where he met up with her — wasn’t clear. The nature of their relationship also wasn’t clear.

Varma, who no longer works for City Hall, admitted to The Post that he “participated in two private gatherings” between April 2020 and May 2021 — but insisted the secretly recorded conversations had been “taken out of context.”

In one clip recorded on Aug. 14, Varma was filmed acknowledging it would have been a “real embarrassment” for the city if he had been busted at the non-socially distanced parties — despite saying there were no gathering restrictions at the time.

 

“We went to some, like, underground dance party … underneath a bank on Wall Street … We were all rolling;

we’re all taking molly [MDMA] and everybody’s high. And I was so happy because I hadn’t done that in like a year and a half,” he said in the clip.

 

“But I was looking around being like, ‘F–k, I wonder if anybody sees me, they’re gonna be pissed.’ Because this was not COVID-friendly,” he added.

“The only way I could do this job for the city was if I had some way to blow off steam every now and then,” he said, according to the video.

 

He also copped to renting a hotel room in the summer of 2020 with his wife and friends.

“My wife and I had one with our friends in August of like that first summer. So we rented a hotel … we all took, like, you know, molly [MDMA] and like it was like eight or nine or us, eight to 10 of us were in a room and everybody had a blast because everybody was like so pent up,” he said in a clip dated Aug. 1.

 

The ex-de Blasio official went on to say he stood by the advice he gave New Yorkers at the time.

“Facing the greatest public health crisis in a century, our top priority was to save lives, and every decision made was based on the best available science to keep New Yorkers safe,” he said.

“I stand by my efforts to get New Yorkers vaccinated against COVID-19, and I reject dangerous extremist efforts to undermine the public’s confidence in the need for and effectiveness of vaccines.”

Varma is currently employed as the chief medical officer for a pharma company called SIGA Technologies, according to his LinkedIn.

Several lawmakers fumed over the newly released footage, with Councilmember Joann Ariola (R-Queens) telling The Post it showed the “perverse corruption” of the de Blasio administration.

 

“This guy was running around living like a drug-fueled Caligula, mandating that ordinary New Yorkers suffer in lockdown and lose their livelihoods while he throws himself parties that could make a rock star blush,” Ariola said.

“Dr. Varma’s pathetic attempt to impress a date further revealed what we all knew — that the ‘leaders’ who shut down businesses, told us not to celebrate Thanksgiving, and fired workers for not taking the vaccine, have always been absolutely full of s–t,” added Councilmember Joe Borelli (R-Staten Island).

 

Meanwhile, Councilmember Robert Holden (D-Queens) urged the city to rehire municipal workers who lost their jobs for not following the vaccine mandate.

“These individuals dedicated their lives to this city, and especially in light of these revelations, it is unconscionable to continue fighting against them in court. It’s time to rehire these city workers and make things right, Mr. Mayor,” said Holden, who stressed there should be a “serious investigation” into Varma’s comments.

 

The Post reached out to de Blasio but didn’t hear back.

A rep for Mayor Eric Adams, in a statement, said Varma “is not, nor has he ever been, a member of the current administration” and praised the city Department of Health for its work during the pandemic.

So many comedians, television shows, and movies have been put under the microscope for not being “progressive” enough in the past.

 

For instance, Friends co-creator Marta Kauffman and some of the cast members have thrown the show under the bus for all sorts of anti-woke sins.

Even though Friends was very liberal for its time in the 1990s, it is being “canceled” by today’s leftists.


The latest celebrity to repudiate his past career is actor Will Ferrell.

During a recent interview, Ferrell said that he regretted putting on a dress during a Saturday Night Live sketch, but not for reasons of emasculation or something along those lines.

 

NBC News reported that “Will Ferrell is no longer interested in performing in drag for laughs. During an interview on The New York Times’ ‘The Interview’ podcast alongside his longtime friend and former ‘Saturday Night Live’ head writer Harper Steele, Ferrell expressed a bit of regret over the ‘Janet Reno’s Fantasies’ sketch from Season 23 of the sketch comedy show. The sketch featured Ferrell in drag as the eponymous attorney general, with his appearance dressing up as a woman being used for laughs.”

 

Throughout the history of the theater, men have dressed up as women and vice versa.

So the Left is in favor of men wearing dresses, but they’re also not in favor of it.

And somehow, that is supposed to make sense.

Ferrell said, “That’s something I wouldn’t choose to do now” and said that the character “hits a false note now.”

 

The “rules” make no sense

Steele, who now identifies as transgender, said, “This kind of bums me out. . .I understand the laugh is a drag laugh. It’s, ‘Hey, look at this guy in a dress, and that’s funny.’ It’s absolutely not funny. It’s absolutely a way that we should be able to live in the world. However, with performers and actors, I do like a sense of play.”


If that is the case, then the Left should be clamoring to cancel all drag performances because drag performers are not transgender; they are generally gay men who dress in women’s clothes in order to perform.

 

Steele continued, “This is an interesting question to me. . .Do queer people like ‘The Birdcage,’ or do they not? Robin Williams, at least as far as we know, was not a gay man, and yet he spent about half of his comedy career doing a swishy gay guy on camera. Do people think that’s funny, or is it just hurtful?”

The Left are tying themselves in knots over their unworkable ideology.

 

Steele added, “I’ve heard from gay men that it was funny, and I’ve heard from gay men that it was hurtful. I am purple-haired woke, but I wonder if sometimes we take away the joy of playing when we take away some of the range that performers, especially comedy performers, can do.”


By the standards of “wokeness,” Melissa McCarthy should be condemned for playing former Trump White House spokesman Sean Spicer.


Ferrell and Steele were promoting their new Netflix documentary Will & Harper, an examination of their friendship after Steele began identifying as transgender.

 

Ferrell commented, “I had met trans people, but I didn’t have anyone personally in my life. . .So this was all new territory for me, which is why I think this film is so exciting for us to kind of put out there in the world. It’s a chance all of us in the cis community to be able to ask questions and also just to listen and be there as a friend to discuss this journey.”

But a DOJ stooge just threw Alvin Bragg under the bus with a bombshell revelation in the Trump case.

 

DOJ spokesman confirms Trump is being targeted

Donald Trump has been hit with unprecedented levels of lawfare.

Court cases have popped up across the country, and they’re all intended to impede him from getting a second term.

And one Department of Justice bigwig effectively admitted it on camera.

An undercover journalist working for conservative commentator Steven Crowder recorded Nicholas Biase, DOJ Chief of Public Affairs, ripping George Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and his sham case against Trump.

 

Biase admitted, “Honestly, I think the case is nonsense.”

Bragg concocted a novel legal theory to go after Trump for allegedly falsifying business records, which is a misdemeanor in New York.

However, Bragg elevated the misdemeanor to a felony by claiming that the falsification covered up an underlying crime.


Judge Juan Merchan—a partisan Democrat who donated money to Joe Biden and whose daughter fundraises for major Democrat campaigns—instructed the jurors that they did not have to agree on the underlying crime; they just had to conclude that Trump committed some crime.

Even liberal legal scholars called out Bragg’s show trial.

 

Biase stated, “He [Bragg] was just stacking charges and rearranging things just to make it fit a case. . .It’s a mockery of justice.”

Initially, Bragg was not going to charge Trump, but he was under enormous pressure from the Left to find a crime with which to charge Trump.

Biase continued, “It affects his candidacy if he’s a convicted felon.”

 

He also acknowledged that the lawfare was backfiring on the Democrats.

“Those felonies did nothing to stop Trump from running,” Biase added. “In fact, they made him more relevant. . .That’s why he’s surging in the polls.”

 

Bragg seeking higher office

Biase suggested that Bragg was interested in seeking higher office, thus the effort to nail Trump for something in fulfillment of his campaign promise.

 

“He wants to be something. . .A mayor? I’m not sure what he wants to be, but I know he’s not happy just being the DA of New York County. Before he decided to prosecute Trump, did you know who he was? You do now.”

Bragg was a professor at a New York Law School before running for district attorney.

 

“The whole thing is disgusting,” added Biase. “It’s a travesty of justice.”

Biase also took aim at Judge Merchan, who delayed sentencing Trump until after the election.

Biase predicted, “This guy is probably going to try to lock him up. And there is going to be—it’s going to be ugly. . .They are so obsessed with getting him.”

 

Letitia James also got some of Biase’s wrath for her preposterous fraud lawsuit against Trump.

“Every real estate person in New York does what he did. Nobody’s ever been charged with this…You know, it’s a perversion of justice.”

In light of the video’s release, Biase apologized and said he was simply trying to “impress” his date.

Nevertheless, someone inside the belly of the beast laid out the Democrats’ entire plan against Trump.

Judge Chutkan Criticizes Trump's Legal Team but Allows Filing Extension For Key Documents

In a recent judicial order, U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan reprimanded former President Donald Trump's attorneys for not meeting a crucial deadline.


Newsweek reported that despite the critique, Judge Chutkan granted the legal team an additional period to comply, emphasizing the ongoing legal struggles Trump faces over alleged election interference.


The case, overseen by Judge Chutkan, involves accusations of Trump attempting to subvert the results of the 2020 Presidential election. Trump has consistently denied wrongdoing, asserting that the charges are politically driven.


Chutkan's frustration was evident when Trump's lawyers, including John Lauro and Todd Blanche, failed to submit necessary documents by the set deadline of 5 p.m. on a recent Thursday. Instead, their filing came late that night.


According to the lawyers, the delay was due to a misunderstanding of the court's specified deadline, believing their internal deadline sufficed. They assured the court that future submissions would meet all deadlines.

 

Extension Granted Despite Missed Deadline

Judge Chutkan, while critical, opted to extend the deadline, a decision supported by Special Counsel Jack Smith. Smith is leading the charge with four felony counts against Trump related to the 2020 election's integrity.


In her order, Judge Chutkan underscored the importance of adhering to procedural timelines, advising the defense to request any necessary extensions in advance to avoid future incidents.


The defense team's late filing requested a halt in the current schedule and a dismissal of the case, arguments that Chutkan had previously declined to consider ahead of the upcoming presidential election.


During earlier hearings, Trump's lawyer Lauro had sought leniency in scheduling due to the election, but Chutkan dismissed these requests. Her focus remained solely on the charges laid out in the indictment, not the political implications.


"This court is not concerned with the electoral schedule. I am not talking about the presidency ... I am talking about a four-count indictment," Chutkan stated, underscoring the judicial focus on the case's merits rather than its political context.


Chutkan further criticized the defense's approach, suggesting their scheduling arguments appeared strategically timed to the election, potentially influencing its outcome.

 

Updated Charges Following Supreme Court Ruling

Recently, Special Counsel Smith adjusted the indictment following a Supreme Court decision related to presidential immunity, which led to the removal of certain allegations involving Trump's interactions with the Department of Justice.
