This is written by a recent immigrant who is a history buff and does a lot of research into Canadian history.

The first article is on the origin of our Thanksgiving, something that our precious Canadian children will NOT be taught in school.

A 250-Year Legacy of Injustice

My last podcast was posted in commemmoration of Truth & Reconciliation Day. It was about John Norton, the Mohawk warrior and Bible Translator. ​


The following day, I read this article, which shows, at face value, the legacy of 250 years without justice.


If you listened to the podcast about Joseph Brant, you will clearly hear the promises made to the Natives for helping the British in the War of American Independence.

In the podcast about John Norton, you will clearly hear that Norton and Brant attempted to pursue justice but the Indian Department in Upper Canada at the time, worked against them by manipulating the Privy Council in Britain.

Both these men were Anglican Christians pursuing justice for the Six Nations. They died without seeing it.


For Christians, we know that sometimes in this life we will never get justice. But we are comforted by the words of Abraham, “Will not the Judge of all the earth do what is right?”(Gen 18:25).


Our prayer for justice is taken from Amos 5:24: But let justice roll on like a river, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.​


May you find LOTS for which to be thankful, and pray for those who are experiencing injustice.

Several legends have grown up around the great Christian hymn "It Is Well." The primary sources help establish a more accurate understanding of the origins of this hymn.


Some versions overly sentimentalize the facts, gloss over Spafford’s doctrinal drift, or completely ignore the events surrounding the composer of the tune that accompanied the lyrics. The actual facts are moving enough even without sentimentalizing them.


Nevertheless, the story of the writing of both lyrics and tune is a source of great encouragement and hope to those who struggle under the burden of overwhelming sorrow. May this video inspire you with that hope.

Wisconsin figures to once again be one of the closest states on the map.

There is panic right now on the Democrat side because Axios reports that Democrat Senate candidate Tammy Baldwin’s internal polls show her clinging to a two-point lead over Republican challenger Eric Hovde.

Wisconsin was also home to the biggest polling misses in both the 2016 and 2020 elections.

 

And despite worrying signs that Kamala Harris’ narrow – according to the Real Clear Politics polling average – lead of just 0.8 is far less than secure, Kamala Harris may have committed a massive blunder.

Kamala Harris showed up in Wisconsin with Liz Cheney for a campaign event where Cheney ranted about her tired complaints about Donald Trump and January 6th.

Cheney also pushed the big lie that Donald Trump was a threat to democracy.

 

“What January 6 shows us is that there is not an ounce – not an ounce – of compassion in Donald Trump,” Cheney raged. “He is petty, he is vindictive, and he is cruel, and Donald Trump is not fit to lead this good and great nation.”

“We have a shared commitment as Americans to ensuring that future generations live in a nation where power is transferred peacefully, where our leaders are men and women of good faith, and where our public servants set aside partisan battles to do what’s right for this country,” Cheney continued.

 

Kamala Harris’ failed strategy

When Joe Biden was in the race, Biden made the centerpiece of his message the lie that Donald Trump would end democracy if he won the election.

With less than a month to go in the election, Kamala Harris doubled down on the failed message that saw voters tune out Biden and give Trump healthy leads in every swing state.

And not only was Kamala Harris campaigning on an unpopular message, but she also stood side by side with one of the most unpopular messengers in politics.

 

“I think this helps Trump. Dick Cheney and Liz Cheney are among the two least popular politicians in all of America,” Daily Signal Executive Editor Rob Bluey explained to NewsNation Now host Connell McShane. 

Dick Cheney left office with a 13 percent approval rating.

Liz Cheney lost her primary by 37 points.

Bluey admitted he couldn’t understand the political strategy involved.

 

“Frankly, I’m shocked that Kamala Harris would want to be seen in public with her. Dick Cheney left office as one of the, again, most unpopular vice presidents, given the actions that he took while in office. Republicans wanted nothing to do with him, and now for some reason, the Democrats are embracing him,” Bluey continued.

“I frankly just don’t get it,” Bluey added.

 

Bluey said the tie that bound the Cheneys and Kamala Harris was their support for the endless war in Ukraine, and a foreign policy approach that boasts no political purchase.

“I don’t see what they have in common with the Democratic Party other than they apparently want to have these endless wars and perpetuate this neoconservative philosophy that the American people have roundly rejected,” Bluey concluded.

 

The top issues are immigration and the economy.

No one is on the fence with regards to Donald Trump over January 6th.

Kamala Harris won’t win over any new voters by making that day’s events the focus of her campaign.

Wisconsin is a razor tight state.

 

And every day Kamala Harris isn’t talking about the issues voters actually care about is an opportunity for Donald Trump.

Severe COVID Ups Heart Risks As Much as Heart Disease:

A severe COVID infection can increase a person’s risk of heart attack and stroke as much as a history of heart disease, a new study says.

People hospitalized for COVID had about the same risk of a major cardiac event as people with heart disease who never had COVID, researchers found.

 

Results also showed that any type of COVID infection — mild to severe — doubles the risk of a major cardiac event for up to three years following illness.

“These findings reveal while it’s an upper respiratory tract infection, COVID-19 has a variety of health implications and underscores that we should consider history of prior COVID-19 infection when formulating cardiovascular disease preventive plans and goals,” said co-senior researcher Dr. Stanley Hazen, chair of cardiovascular and metabolic sciences with the Cleveland Clinic’s Lerner Research Institute.

 

Early in the pandemic it became clear that COVID increases a person’s risk of blood clots and heart problems, but there remains a lack of understanding regarding how long this risk lasts and what factors influence it, researchers said.

For this study, researchers analyzed data from more than 10,000 COVID patients in the United Kingdom diagnosed between February and December 2020, and compared their heart health to nearly 218,000 people who weren’t infected with COVID.

The team found that COVID hospitalization is a “risk equivalent” to coronary artery disease.

 

They also found that a person’s risk varies based on their blood type.

People with A, B and AB blood types had a higher risk of future heart problems following a severe COVID infection, compared to people with an O blood type, results show.

 

This suggests that a person’s genetics could play a role in their heart risk following a COVID infection, researchers said.

The findings were published Oct. 9 in the journal Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology.

 

“We’re trying to rule out other alternative explanations, but it looks like there’s really something biological going on with these specific blood groups,” said co-senior researcher Hooman Allayee, a professor of population and public health sciences and biochemistry and molecular medicine at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine.

 

“Given our collective observations and that 60% of the world's population have these non-O blood types, our study raises important questions about whether more aggressive cardiovascular risk reduction efforts should be considered, possibly by taking into consideration an individual's genetic makeup,” Allayee added in a university news release.

Doctors now need to weigh COVID infection as part of patients’ overall heart risk, Allayee said.

 

“The question now is: Could this finding, along with subsequent studies, change international guidelines for preventive cardiac care, even in the absence of known heart disease?” Allayee said.

Elon Musk Warns of Billionaire Fears Over Trump Re-Election and Epstein Revelations:

Elon Musk's recent interview sparks controversy over alleged connections between high-profile figures and Jeffrey Epstein.

According to a report by the Daily Mail Online, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has made startling claims about wealthy Democrats' alleged fears regarding the potential release of Jeffrey Epstein's client list.

 

In an interview with Tucker Carlson on X, the tech mogul suggested that billionaires like Bill Gates are apprehensive about a Donald Trump victory in the upcoming election due to concerns over the potential disclosure of Epstein-related information.

 

Musk specifically pointed to Microsoft founder Bill Gates and LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman as examples of billionaires who might be worried about such revelations.
