12th Century St. John of the Cross wrote of the Long Dark Night of the Soul. It follows the Long Dark Night of the Senses when nothing in this world matters anymore. It leads one's soul to walk out at night unseen by others, not seeing any others, empty in its search for new meaning and feeling in God alone. It finds no light until it's heart is filled with the Song of Songs.
I pray that the "callous" Trump is stumbling along this same journey. It led St. John to start a new order of Reformed Carmelites. May it lead Trump to start a new party of Reformed Republicans.

Freedom Convoy Leaders’ Sentencing Hearing to begin July 23 with Verdict due in August
After a trial that lasted nearly two years, Tamara Lich and Chris Barber are scheduled for a hearing in which Justice Heather Perkins-McVey will review their case a final time.
OTTAWA, Ontario (LifeSiteNews) — Freedom Convoy leaders Tamara Lich and Chris Barber will begin their sentencing hearing next week after earlier this year being found guilty of mischief in their roles in the 2022 convoy.
From July 23 to July 25, 2025, both Lich and Barber will be at a hearing in which Justice Heather Perkins-McVey will go over their case. She is then expected to deliver her final verdict in August.
Lich noted on X that she is “hopeful we will have the sentencing by mid to late August.”
“The Crown is seeking 2 years in a federal penitentiary for each of us and will be arguing a forfeiture order to seize and destroy Big Red,” she said.
On July 23, Barber will learn whether or not his stay of proceedings request will be granted.
In April, Lich and Chris Barber were found guilty of mischief for their roles as leaders of the 2022 protest and as social media influencers. The conviction after a nearly two-year trial came despite the non-violent nature of the popular movement.
TDF also noted that the full 108-page judgment of Justice Perkins-McVey’s ruling is now available online.
As for Barber, his initial sentencing was further delayed. The delay in his case follows a recent update in which he announced that the Crown wants to jail him for two years in addition to seizing the truck he used in the protest. As such, his legal team has asked for a stay of proceedings for the time being.
The Lich and Barber trial concluded in September 2024, more than a year after it began. It was originally scheduled to last 16 days. Lich and Barber were initially arrested on February 17, 2022, meaning their legal battle has lasted longer than three years.
Despite the peaceful nature of the Freedom Convoy, then-Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his Liberal government invoked the Emergencies Act to clear out protesters, an action a federal judge has since said was “not justified.” During the clear-out, an elderly lady was trampled by a police horse and many who donated to the cause had their bank accounts frozen.
The actions taken by the Trudeau government were publicly supported by Mark Carney at the time, who won re-election on April 28 and is slated to form a minority government.

Well, it looks like Ash was just the beginning. Two years later, we’ve uncovered yet another biological male dominating women’s rugby — this time, in Toronto.
The rugby community tipped us off about a player who goes by the name “Chloe” Yorg.
So, I went to a match at Eglinton Flats to see for myself. What I witnessed was disturbing: “Chloe” delivering bone-crunching hits and stiff elbows, ultimately leaving at least one female opponent seriously injured.
It was hard to watch. But what happened next was even more shocking.

And the most passionate defenders of this gender grift? Yorg’s female teammates, coaches, and even spectators.
They rushed to his defence, more outraged by my presence than the fact that a male was taking the place of a deserving female athlete on their team.
Where are the feminists now? Where are the referees to enforce World Rugby’s rules, which explicitly ban men from competing in women’s leagues? Even the opposing coach seemed more offended by my questions than by the fact that his team got steamrolled by a lineup of cheaters.
It’s outrageous. It’s the fox in the henhouse.
And it will only stop when female athletes and their allies stop playing along with this charade.The indoctrination is real. Misogyny on the pitch isn’t just tolerated here in Canada, it’s being celebrated.
How long can this delusion go on? Until someone is seriously injured? Even then, I have my doubts.

Crooks also killed one audience member, firefighter Corey Comperatore, and critically injured two others. Crooks was shot and killed by the counter sniper team of the United States Secret Service.
