Plan to be there to support your City

Hello everyone!

 

First, this is not an email asking you to campaign for Susan Stevenson.  Although I support Susan on many issues, the point is that in regard to the two motions discussed in the link above, I agree with Susan.

 

On January 26, many came out in full force to London City Hall, expressing our concerns over the motions discussed above. The motions discussed above went to committee, were passed and will be officially voted upon this Tuesday, February 10, at 1 pm.  I am hoping we can come out once again with the same overwhelming strength.

 

Why?

Because even if these motions pass the vote at council (which they probably will), it is too little too late.  After sitting in council for four years, knowing that winter will come again, they didn't take action until now?  Please remember this fact when the election rolls around this year.

 

Furthermore, the fundamental problems with this council (not everyone on it) still remain:  mismanagement of and the lack of disclosure regarding the use of public funds, ridiculous salary increases, excessive taxation, useless and ineffective projects,  etc., etc., etc.

 

The point is that we need accountability and transparency, and most (not all) city councillors/mayors are not delivering.  

 

We need to take back our community and restore power to the people.

 

We need to remind the politicians that they serve us, not themselves.

 

Attending meetings, phoning and emailing our officials are all ways to remind them that we are watching and holding them to account.

Tom Homan announces withdrawal of 700 Federal Agents from Minneapolis

Canada has approx.
