Many of you have been joining us on our daily praying in the Spirit  during  the month of May. THANK YOU! We have been seeing shifts and changes in our nation that is an answer to our prayers.  THANK YOU LORD!

 

Your prayers in the Spirit have been very powerful in our nation! One picture God gave me was, I saw dark tornadoes filling the sky across Canada but they were not touching down. We feel they are not touching down because of the prayers of His people. (Thank you Lord! ).  We also feel there  are still many critical, important and sensitive issues still being made in Canada.  Let us NOT STOP PRAYING!  

 

THEREFORE we feel to continue praying in the Spirit every day for the month of June. Please join us as often as you can.  Take note of the extra hour available later on in the day.

 This Week In Canada: 

  • ·       A shocking new Leger poll shows that support for Alberta Independence has reached 47% amongst Albertans, with 48% opposed and 5% undecided. The poll also asked voters in the rest of the country how they felt about Alberta potentially leaving Canada. 62% of Canadians nationally were opposed to Alberta separating, with just 26% in favour. However, when asked whether they understood why Alberta might want to become an independent country, 55% responded yes and 37% responded no. With a potential referendum on separation coming next spring, polling showing support at almost 50% confirms that the issue of separation will almost certainly dominate both federal and Alberta politics in the coming year.


  • ·       Speaking of which, at the recent Western Premiers’ Conference, Premier David Eby appeared to leave the door slightly open to the idea of new pipelines, telling Alberta Premier Danielle Smith he was willing to “cross that bridge” if another pipeline proposal came forward. However, shortly after the conference, Eby firmly reversed his position, stating his opposition to any new oil pipelines passing through British Columbia. He emphasized that the existing Trans Mountain Pipeline, which is currently operating at about 88% capacity just one year after expansion, should be the priority. Waiting until Trans Mountain is running at full capacity before even discussing new pipeline projects isn’t a viable option, especially given the years it takes to build such infrastructure.   • ·       Also, at a recent forum in Calgary, European Ambassadors expressed surprise at the persistence of internal trade barriers within Canada, highlighting how such obstacles contrast sharply with the free flow of trade in Europe. Germany’s Ambassador, Matthius Luttenberg, noted that these barriers add unnecessary costs and slow down exports, suggesting that Canada needs more open interprovincial discussions to address the issue. European representatives emphasized the need for improved infrastructure to export energy resources such as liquefied natural gas (LNG), hydrogen, and renewables to Europe. Alberta’s abundant energy resources and potential pipeline corridors were also discussed, though concerns remain about limited port accessibility. With increasing global demand for alternative energy sources, including Europe’s move away from Russian gas, the Ambassadors urged Canada to improve its export capabilities.


  • ·       The Conservative Party of Canada secured two key victories in Eastern Canadian seats following tight judicial recounts. In Newfoundland’s Terra Nova-The Peninsulas, Conservative Jonathan Rowe defeated Liberal Anthony Germain by just 12 votes, reversing the initial result and increasing the Conservative seat count to 144. This result reduces the Liberals to 169 seats - three short of a majority. The recount process, which involved over 1,000 disputed ballots and lasted nearly two weeks, was overseen by a provincial Supreme Court justice. Rowe, a first-time MP and engineer, promised to represent all constituents, regardless of how they voted. His win reflects growing Conservative support in Newfoundland, where the party now holds three of seven federal seats. In Ontario, Conservative Kathy Borrelli narrowly held onto Windsor-Tecumseh-Lake Shore by just four votes after a judicial recount confirmed her win over the Liberal incumbent.


  • ·       Canada Post workers, represented by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), have initiated a legal strike action by refusing to work overtime, though a full strike has not yet begun. The union is demanding that members work no more than eight hours a day and 40 hours a week, with letter carriers required to return undelivered mail to depots even if routes are incomplete. This follows a 32-day strike late last year that ended without resolving key issues, leading to an extended contract with a modest wage increase but no long-term agreement.

    Canada Post has been struggling financially, losing $3 billion since 2017 and recently requiring a $1 billion federal loan to stay afloat. The decline in traditional letter mail, combined with obligations to deliver to every address at uniform rates, has created severe financial strain.

    While parcel delivery is a growing market, Canada Post’s share has dropped sharply as private competitors deliver on weekends, a service Canada Post cannot currently offer due to union opposition.


  • The union opposes the company’s push for more part-time weekend workers, which it views as precarious gig work.


  • ·       Prime Minister Mark Carney has confirmed that Canada is in high-level talks with the United States about joining the proposed “Golden Dome” missile defence system. Unveiled by President Donald Trump, the project is intended to counter future aerial threats using space-based sensors and interceptors.


Trump claimed Canada was eager to participate, though the details and cost remain unclear. Carney said Canada is open to the idea but emphasized that these are military decisions requiring careful evaluation. Talks come amid broader security and trade negotiations between the two countries, following Trump’s earlier tariff threats.

 

A spokesperson for Carney confirmed that discussions also involve strengthening NORAD, the long-standing joint defence partnership. Critics say the project would consume a large share of the US defence budget.

CALGARY, AB: A new report from the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms examines the immediate and long-term negative impacts of Covid lockdowns, including physical, social, and economic harms. It also underscores the lack of transparent, evidence-based analysis by governments to justify these measures.

 

The report details how policies introduced with the stated goal of saving lives came at an extraordinary cost to Canadians’ mental and physical health, access to healthcare, economic security, and civil liberties.

One of the most concerning findings is the sharp decline in Canadians’ mental health. In 2019, 67 percent of Canadians rated their mental health as “very good or excellent.” By 2023, that figure had dropped to just 54 percent.

Meanwhile, the number of Canadians reporting “fair or poor” mental health nearly doubled—from 8 percent to 15 percent. This trend was seen across all age groups, but especially among young adults.

 

Indeed, despite facing minimal risk from Covid, young Canadians suffered some of the most serious consequences of lockdown measures. Non-Covid deaths among Canadians under age 45 rose by 22 percent, driven by factors such as disease, addiction, delayed treatment, and suicide. Physical activity among youth dropped significantly during this period, while time spent on screens—such as cell phones, computers, and tablets—increased sharply. Up to 70 percent of children and teens reported experiencing anxiety, depression, or other serious mental health issues.

 

A particularly alarming trend was the surge in opioid-related deaths. From 2020 to 2023, annual opioid overdose deaths increased by 108 percent. In 2023 alone, 8,606 Canadians died from opioid toxicity—more than double the pre-lockdown average. British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario recorded the highest rates, with the vast majority of deaths involving fentanyl.

 

During Covid, thousands of medical check-ups, diagnoses, and treatments were delayed or cancelled, resulting in a serious and ongoing backlog in Canada’s healthcare system.

Wait times for medical treatments increased by 43 percent between 2019 and 2024, reaching a median of 30 weeks. MRI wait times rose by 55 percent. For certain cancers, including breast and prostate, surgery delays increased by as much as 34 percent. Since 2018, more than 74,000 Canadians have died while waiting for surgery or diagnostic care—over 15,000 of them in 2023–24 alone. The actual number is likely higher, due to poor provincial tracking and reporting.

 

The economic impact was equally severe. Lockdowns resulted in widespread job losses, particularly among low-wage workers, while the “laptop class” remained largely unscathed. While many public sector jobs expanded during this time, Canadians in hospitality, retail, and service sectors faced prolonged unemployment. The expansion of public spending and government debt contributed to rising inflation, driving up the cost of food, housing, and other essentials.

 

Crime rates also rose during the lockdown years. Homicides peaked in 2022 at 17 percent above trend, with 882 victims across Canada. Cybercrime nearly doubled, rising from 48,000 cases in 2019 to over 93,000 in 2023. Identity theft and fraud increased to 120 percent above trend in 2020, with similar levels in the following years. Particularly troubling was the rise in online child sexual exploitation, which reached 18,650 reported cases in 2023—a 173 percent increase from 2019.

 

Benjamin Klassen, Education Coordinator at the Justice Centre, says the findings demand accountability. “This report calls for governments to take responsibility for the damage done during this period and ensure that future public health policies uphold the Charter rights and freedoms of all Canadians.”

Mr. Klassen continues, “The Charter requires governments to ‘demonstrably’ justify any freedom-limiting policy. To date, no federal or provincial government in Canada has conducted the kind of comprehensive impact assessment required to justify the lockdowns.”

 

He concludes, “The evidence is clear: the harms of lockdowns outweighed their benefits. Canadians deserve an honest and transparent evaluation of lockdown harms, so that these mistakes are never repeated.”

Executive Summary... [REPORT]

In response to Covid, Canadian governments repeatedly imposed non-pharmaceuticalinterventions (lockdowns) with the stated goal of managing Covid transmissions and savinglives. They did this despite mounting evidence that lockdowns did little to save lives, butinstead caused Canadians a great deal of harm.

Five years later, the data reveals the true cost of such policies. Will we learn and avoidrepeating the same mistakes in the future?


Building on previous Justice Centre reports, which reported on a host of lockdown harms,this report investigates the ongoing harms lockdowns have caused Canadians. Usingpublicly available statistics, this report reveals the year-over-year trends of the costs oflockdown and the gravity of these harms during each of the last five years.

Our report finds that there was a significant deterioration in Canadians' mental healthduring lockdowns, as demonstrated by Canadians’ self-perception of their mental health,increased number of mood disorder diagnoses, and the alarming surge in opioid overdosedeaths. Canadian children and youth weren’t spared: being barred from physical activitiesand often having nothing to do but stay glued to their screens, their mental well-being tooka significant hit.


Canadians also saw a deterioration in their overall health, as shown by their lower self-perceived health and their access to timely healthcare, including MRI scans and diagnosesand treatment of critical diseases like cancer. During lockdowns, thousands of scheduleddiagnostic visits were delayed and cancelled, resulting in more deaths in the long term andan ongoing backlog at healthcare facilities, perpetuating a cycle of extended wait times.While birth rates saw a significant drop during lockdowns, a higher number of Canadianswere dying (over and beyond Covid deaths) than would have been expected under normalcircumstances.

 

These “excess deaths” were seen in categories like liver diseases,diabetes, and hypertensive diseases, largely due to lifestyle changes during lockdowns. Inthe case of Canadians under 45 years of age, a significantly higher percentage of “excessdeaths” were due to non-Covid causes than were due to Covid, indicating that lockdownshad a particularly hard-hitting effect on this young and typically healthy demographic.

Another somber statistic was the spike in euthanasia cases, which in 2023 accounted for4.7 percent of all deaths in Canada. Many who received assistance in committing suicidewere not facing the prospect of a natural death in the “reasonably foreseeable” future.Crime also surged.

 

Homicide rates surpassed the previous five-year trend significantly,claiming many innocent victims in Canada. Cyber-crime thrived as well, particularly in

6. identity theft, fraud and online child sexual exploitation, resulting in thousands of innocentvictims.

Economically, the lockdowns were devastating. Millions of workers relying on their jobs toput food on the table were sent home for months – even years – on end, leading manyCanadians to struggle to provide for their families. Lower-wage earners were particularlyharshly affected compared to higher-wage earners. The “laptop class” of lawyers,accountants, politicians, judges and academics were almost entirely exempted fromfinancial hardship.


As a result of massive government subsidies to keep Canadians afloat amid mass layoffsand the consequent soaring of government debt, Canadians have seen significantly highinflation rates over the last several years. This has led even more Canadians to struggle topay their bills and provide for their families.

In examining these lockdown harms, this report paints a clear picture: lockdowns were notworth the cost. Covid lockdown harms should serve as a cautionary tale for future“emergencies,” and Canadians' Charter rights and freedoms should not be taken lightly.


The Canadian Charter of Rights of Freedoms requires governments to “demonstrably”justify with persuasive evidence any health order, vaccine mandate or other law thatviolates our Charter freedoms, including religion, expression, peaceful assembly,association, and mobility. Governments must show that any freedom-violating policybrings about more good than harm.

 

This requires governments to identify, track, andmonitor lockdown harms, and weigh those harms against any potential benefits.Five years after the first lockdowns, no federal, provincial, or territorial government inCanada has conducted an honest and transparent analysis of their lockdown policies.Sadly, it falls upon non-government actors like the Justice Centre to carry out thisnecessary work.


While this report is no substitute for the comprehensive analyses governments should haveundertaken, it takes important initial steps in documenting many of the lockdown harms –including ongoing harms – that Canadians experienced. It offers an important reminder:Canadians’ rights and freedoms must never again be suspended without careful,transparent, and evidence-based justification.

Ukraine is under historically-intense Russian attack

After three nights of “record-breaking” Russian missile and drone strikes in Ukraine, Poland’s military chief is visiting the Pentagon. Minister of Defense Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz and his team dropped by shortly before 10 a.m. ET for talks behind closed doors with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. 

 

Over the weekend, Russia’s military “launched three of its largest strike packages against Ukraine over the last three days,” the Washington-based Institute for the Study of War reported in its latest daily analysis of Vladimir Putin’s Ukraine invasion, which has been ongoing for nearly 1,200 consecutive days. 

 

Kyiv: “Over 900 attack drones launched against Ukraine in just three days, along with ballistic and cruise missiles,” President Volodymir Zelenskyy said in a video posted to social media Monday. More than a dozen people were killed in the attacks, and at least 60 were wounded across 13 regions of Ukraine. “There is no military logic in this, but it is a clear political choice of Russia—the choice to keep waging war.” 

 

“America's silence, and the silence of others in the world, only encourages Putin,” Zelenskyy said, adding, “The world may go on vacation, but the war continues, despite weekends and weekdays. This cannot be ignored.”

 

Trump reax: “I’ve always had a very good relationship with Vladimir Putin of Russia, but something has happened to him. He has gone absolutely CRAZY!” the U.S. president, who has long praised the Russian autocrat, wrote on social media. “He is needlessly killing a lot of people, and I’m not just talking about soldiers. Missiles and drones are being shot into Cities in Ukraine, for no reason whatsoever.” 

 

Trump also lashed out at Zelenskyy: “Everything out of his mouth causes problems, I don’t like it, and it better stop.”

 

Expert reax: “Russia may be increasing strikes against Ukraine as part of a cognitive warfare effort to weaken Ukrainian resolve and to undermine Western support for Ukraine,” ISW wrote in its Monday analysis. That effort “is rooted in fear and the acknowledgement that Russia's only real hope in defeating Ukraine is by isolating Ukraine from its allies.” Read more, here. 

 

New: Germany's new chancellor just lifted distance restrictions on weapons given to Ukraine—including long-range missiles from the UK, France, and the U.S., which could free up Kyiv to strike deeper inside Russia than before, the Associated Press reported Monday. 

 

Worth noting: Chancellor Friedrich Merz and his “government has said it will no longer provide full details of the weapons it is supplying to Ukraine…citing the need for ‘strategic ambiguity,’” AP reports. 

 

ICYMI, a new milestone for Berlin: Germany just “deployed a permanent military brigade beyond its borders [to Lithuania] for the first time since the end of World War II,” though it won’t be fully ready for another two and a half years, NBC News reported Friday. 

 

About the brigade: It comprises “a heavy combat unit of some 4,800 soldiers, hundreds of civilian staff, and 2,000 vehicles, including tanks. It will be headquartered in Rudninkai near Vilnius and is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2027.” Continue reading, here. 

 

Developing: The U.S. is poised to sell Estonia 800 Javelin missiles for about $300 million. The Pentagon’s Defense Security Cooperation Agency has details. 

 

By the way: Eight of the Pentagon’s 11 arms sales packages announced in May have gone to countries in Europe. That includes 1,400 Small Diameter Bombs for Poland, whose deputy prime minister and defense chief is visiting the Defense Department today. 

 

New: The European Union just greenlit a 150 billion-euro ($170.7 billion) arms fund, Reuters reports from Brussels, describing it as “the final legal step in setting up the Security Action for Europe (SAFE) scheme, using joint EU borrowing to give loans to European countries for joint defence projects.”

Around the Defense Department

The Pentagon spent more than $3 billion on recruiting and retention bonuses in the past three years, the Associated Press reported on Sunday. “The financial incentives to reenlist in the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines increased dramatically from 2022 through last year, with the Navy vastly outspending the others, according to funding totals provided by the services. The overall amount of recruiting bonuses also rose steadily, fueled by significant jumps in spending by the Army and Marine Corps.”

 

Money well spent? “Coupled with an array of new programs, an increased number of recruiters and adjustments to enlistment requirements, the additional incentives have helped the services bounce back from the shortfalls. All but the Navy met their recruiting targets last year and all are expected to do so this year.” Read on, here. 

 

It’s been three months since Hegseth sacked the Navy’s top officer without explanation and without replacement. “The Navy has never gone this long without a fully empowered chief of naval operations. White House dismissed scores of National Security Council staff on Friday, part of an effort to radically shrink the coordination body, Axios reported on Friday. The cuts were ordered by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who is also serving as Trump’s national security advisor after the dismissal of Signalgate principal Michael Waltz. 

 

"The NSC is the ultimate Deep State. It's Marco vs. the Deep State. We're gutting the Deep State," one official said of the move, which aims to roughly halve the 350-member Council staff. Read on, here, and the Washington Post has its own reporting. 

 

Legality status check: Actions and orders from the Trump administration have violated U.S. laws so frequently that more than 170 rulings from judges have at least temporarily paused some of Trump’s initiatives, the New York Times reported Friday.

Christian Supremacy in Investing is NOT RACISM!

 

Beware: The effort to get woke activism out of investing is really a secret plot to force Christian supremacy and theocracy on the nation!

The SPLC has a knack for finding the secret racist, sexist, homophobic, anti-immigrant motive behind anything, and its reporter is on the case.

This time, the intrepid R.G. Cravens has uncovered a conspiracy so deep, it seems utterly incomprehensible to the uninitiated.

 

You see, the Christian conservative law firm Alliance Defending Freedom has launched an initiative called the Viewpoint Diversity Score, working with Christian investment manager Jerry Bowyer. Bowyer’s firm, Bowyer Research, says it is “nonpolitical” and advises companies to focus “narrowly on pecuniary benefit to investors.”

In recent years, left-leaning firms have prioritized environmental, social, and governance standards for investing, and Alliance Defending Freedom and Bowyer say they want to move investing back to neutral. Their statements, actions, and guidelines seem to promote neutrality, encouraging companies to prioritize profits and returns on investments rather than activist causes.

 

Yet Cravens has discovered their secret. Bowyer, you see, has ties to the underground Christian world of dominionism, which seeks to impose Christian theocracy on America. Whatever he says, he’s really a nefarious Christian absolutist!

Thus, Cravens works hard to decipher the hidden messages in Bowyer’s words. Or, as Cravens puts it, he deciphers the “‘stealth’ activism deployed by Christian supremacists [aiming to] soften their theocratic rhetoric with more innocuous-sounding language.”

 

For instance, when Bowyer wrote that “Biblically Responsible Investing, aka Christian Investing, means investing to get a return,” Cravens insists he really means he wants investment to produce “a lucrative return that can be used to encourage the development of a Christian theocracy.”

 

When Bowyer says he wants to engage with publicly traded companies to ensure they aren’t debanking conservatives (when financial institutions refuse to do business with people or businesses because of their political or other viewpoints), Cravens says he’s really just making companies “vehicles … to alter the broader culture to make it easier for theocracy to take hold.”

Cravens’ evidence for this? It may seem tenuous at first.

 

Bowyer, you see, is a fellow at the Center for Cultural Leadership, and the leader of that center is P. Andrew Sandlin, who once served as executive vice president at “the anti-LGBTQ+ hate group Chalcedon Foundation.” A frequent reader of the SPLC‘s work will know that the Chalcedon Foundation is a bastion of dominionism and “Christian supremacy.”

OK, I’ll Level with You Now

If you can’t tell by now, I find Cravens’ article (available here in all of its glory) an impressively insane piece of leftist propaganda. Alliance Defending Freedom and Jerry Bowyer truly are fighting for neutrality in investing, not some secret “Christian supremacist” plot. (By the way, don’t you love how the SPLC makes Christian activism sound nefarious by comparing it to white supremacy? Very fitting for a group that scares its donors into ponying up cash by comparing mainstream conservative Christian groups to the KKK.)

 

Unlike Cravens, I reached out to Bowyer for comment.

Bowyer found it curious that Cravens described him as “a fixture in the Christian Reconstructionist movement” “since the early 1990s,” because, Bowyer said, “As far as I know, there isn’t a Reconstructionist movement.”

Like a dog returning to its vomit, the SPLC repeatedly brings up the Chalcedon Foundation as supposed evidence of this widespread Christian cabal, but Bowyer says, “Chalcedon seems to be a shell of what they were when [founder] R.J. Rushdoony was alive. I’m not seeing any influence.” He says Rushdoony had influence in the 1980s, but even with Sandlin at the helm, the influence had long faded.

 

“It kind of went moribund after the death of its founder,” he noted.

That accords with my experience. I grew up in conservative Christian circles, attending Promise Keepers rallies, and I never heard of the Chalcedon Foundation until I started researching the SPLC. I have repeatedly reached out to the Chalcedon Foundation for comment and have gotten no response.

 

Bowyer had read some of Rushdoony’s work when he was a teenager, but he has long since rejected the notion that Christians are supposed to apply the whole Old Testament law in modern America, as Rushdoony advocated.

“I processed all that and came to the conclusion that the Constitution and the Founders had things right—that’s where I’ve been for 35 years,” he said.

 

Ironically, Bowyer is fighting against a far-right Christian movement, Christian Nationalism, which he says would use the power of the government to convert people.

“They’re trying to associate me with the hard coercive Right when on social media, I’m very active fighting that—straining relationships by fighting against it,” he said. “The SPLC maybe ought to say, ‘Thank you.’”

“They’re attributing beliefs to me that I not only don’t hold but that I’ve actively fought, going back decades,” Bowyer told The Daily Signal. “This is super sloppy work.”

 

I would expect nothing less from the SPLC. As I wrote in my book, “Making Hate Pay: The Corruption of the Southern Poverty Law Center,” the SPLC trades on its history in bankrupting the Ku Klux Klan to smear mainstream conservatives and Christians, suggesting they are driven by a KKK-style hatred. The SPLC uses this narrative to scare donors into ponying up cash and to silence opposition to its hard-left agenda.
