Why We Follow False Prophets:
You’ve seen them. They appear everywhere promoting the latest health solution, money-making plan, or the “newest scoop” on popular people, complete with anonymous sources. These flim flam artists fool multitudes of gullible folks every day.
Which one just caught you? The one on television with the hot air cooker? The one at the mall with the sharpest knives that cut the toughest foods like a hot knife through warm butter? Or the one that guaranteed retirement income that will last a lifetime, without any risk?
You have seen them and even succumbed to a promise too good to resist. These false prophets entice ordinary people like you and me to trust their messages. The risk-free return offer goes unused. Hardly a day passes that we do not hear the siren call of a false prophet.
False prophets even appear in the Bible, of all places. Throughout their Old Testament history, the Israelites encountered numerous false prophets. Moses identified several of them in the Israelites’ exodus from Egypt to the Promised Land. King Saul met with the witch of Endor for advice in a time of difficulty. Soon after the successful reign of King David, the nation split into 2 smaller nations because of the influence of false prophets. which resulted in disaster after disaster.
Most of the books of the Old Testament describe the trials and hardships that the Israelites experienced because of their following false prophets. In fact,
“The people who were honored in the Bible were the false prophets. It was the ones we call the prophets who were jailed and driven into the desert.” (Noam Chomsky)
The Bible describes the harmful consequences upon God's people because they followed false prophets. Even as the Israelites followed false prophets to their loss God warned His people through His true prophets of the presence of evil leaders and how to identify them. His counsels went unheeded.
“What does that have to do with me?”, you ask. Everything. Do false Christian prophets exist today? Yes! The technological advances of our day make it easy for evil men and women to broadcast their false messages.
You have seen religious preachers on television promote their enticing messages. These speakers always encourage you to order their books and literature with appealing promises of the favorable impact these materials will have upon your life. Sometimes they offer them free. How can you resist free, Huh? With few exceptions they deliver false messages.
The world-wide internet makes it even easier for imposters to distribute their damnable heresies. Email messages link to their web sites and book offers. How many of these emails do you receive? I know, their offers are hard to resist.
Why do we follow false prophets?
What traits separate false prophets from a true prophet of God? How can we identify them? Jesus warned that they would come. Near the end of His famous Sermon On The Mount, He declared:
“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so, every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” (Matthew 7:13-20)
False Prophets: Their Occurrence
This warning from the Lord Jesus confirms their existence and cautions their potential harm to believers. The Lord cancels all doubt regarding their presence. They will and do exist, and He commands His disciples to watch out for false prophets and to guard against them.
False Prophets: The Duty of Examination
Since the Lord Jesus said, “Beware of false prophets,” we dare not set aside that command. As followers of Christ, we have a responsibility to heed His caution for our own spiritual welfare.
According to popular error, no one has the right to examine another person, especially his/her religious beliefs. The advocates of this fallacy believe that the Bible forbids it. They mistakenly apply Christ’s teaching at the beginning of Matthew 7 to this issue, imagining that Scripture forbids judgment.
However, a careful reading of Matthew 7.1-5 shows that Jesus did not forbid judging but instead gave direction on the manner of judging. In fact, the Bible frequently gives guidance in Romans, 1 Corinthians, I Timothy and Revelation on how to examine others and ourselves. We must approach it carefully, knowing that He will judge us in the same manner that we judge others.
Believers have a duty to examine those who come to them as teachers and assume church leadership positions. We must scrutinize their fruits to ensure their authenticity, so that we do not follow false prophets.
The devil’s deceits and the pressure of the world have blinded our eyes and pulled us away from that responsibility. We must examine our leaders thoroughly because Jesus warned us that false prophets would come. If we ignore this duty, we open the door to deceitful leadership. by Tom Hill
Leftist journalists attempt hit piece on Barron Trump in order to attack Donald Trump:
Leftists in the media are once again scrutinizing former President Donald Trump's youngest son, Barron, Nicki Swift reported. Everything from his close relationship with his father to his teenage growth spurt has been shown in a disparaging light.
Children of political leaders are supposed to be off-limits to journalists. However, when it comes to Barron, the scrutiny has continued from his father's time in office.
As Trump gears up for his 2024 presidential run, Barron is once again fodder for the media. The piece on the Nicki Swift website, "20 Facts About Donald Trump's Youngest Son, Barron," touches on many subjects related to Barron, including the fact that he's close to his father.
Notably, the outlet's YouTube companion video is titled more harshly as "The Truth Is Tumbling Out About Barron Trump." One of those "truths" includes the endearing way Trump gushed about Barron's "delicate hands" when he was first born.
Barron's mother, Melania Trump, also told CNN's Larry King that Donald Trump and his newborn son spent time together reading the newspapers and watching television. It's clear that he's an involved father, though Nicki Swift was sure to mention Donald Trump doesn't change diapers.
The news outlet also examined how many people believe Barron is just like his famous father. "Given that he loves to wear suits and moisturize his skin with caviar, it should surprise exactly no one that Melania Trump often refers to her only son as 'little Donald' and 'mini-Donald,'" the piece said.
Barron's mother said her son is a "very strong-minded, very special, smart boy," the former first lady said. "He is independent and opinionated and knows exactly what he wants. ... He is a mixture of us in looks, but his personality is why I call him little Donald," she added.
The youngest Trump son also looked up to his father from a young age. He wanted to play golf and become a successful businessman like his dad.
The media outlet noted that Melania Trump's use of the moniker should surely be an insult to Trump's grown son, Donald Trump Jr. There's no evidence that the relationship between Trump and his namesake, who is Barron's half-brother, is anything but amicable.
Even Tony Senecal, the former butler to the Trump family, similarly thinks Barron takes after his father the most. He relayed his observation via an anecdote shared several years ago.
"When Barron was two-and-a-half years old I took his breakfast into him," Senecal told "Inside Edition" in March 2016. "He was sitting in his highchair and he looks at me and he said: 'Tony! Sit down! We need to talk!'" he recalled.
The Nicki Swift reporters noted that this story couldn't be verified, but that they "can't say it's too hard to imagine." Other commentary about the younger Trump included talk about his growth spurt by repeating a joke about Barron made on Twitter that he "looks like two kids in a trench coat."
The piece also reprinted an observation from reporters who noticed that Barron seemed to "grow half a foot since Thanksgiving" in a January 2020 tweet. The 6'7" young man is not the first teenage boy to seemingly grow overnight, but those in the media apparently think it's newsworthy.
The Trump family has been treated unkindly by the news media ever since Donald Trump announced his run for office in 2015. Now, they're barely hiding their critique of his 17-year-old son as the presidential campaign season is ramping up. The American Digest
Republican Tim Burchett says release of Epstein flight logs has not happened because of Congressional members who could be named:
A House Republican says that Jeffrey Epstein's private jet logs have not been made public because they "compromise" too many of his colleagues.
The House Republican, according to the Washington Times, is U.S. Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN).
At issue here are the flight logs for Epstein's infamous plane, the Lolita Express. It has been alleged that Epstein used the plane to traffic young women around the world.
The flight logs would indicate who was on Epstein's plane during these trips.
Reports have already claimed that numerous well-known actors and politicians took trips on the plane, including Bill Gates, Prince Andrew, former President Donald Trump, former President Bill Clinton, and others.
The flight logs, though, have yet to be released, and Burchett is arguing that they have not been released because they would compromise too many of his fellow politicians.
Burchett said:
Too many of my colleagues I’m afraid are compromised in this area for whatever reason. Somebody whispered in their ear saying, "Hey, you don’t want something to come out on something else, you better keep your mouth shut on this." That’s exactly what they’ve done.
Burchett is among those members of Congress who have been vigorously pushing for the Lolita Express flight logs to be released.
Earlier this month, he called upon the House Oversight & Accountability Committee to subpoena the plane's flight logs.
U.S. Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) has been leading similar efforts in the U.S. Senate, but the Democrats, who control the upper chamber, have been preventing her from making progress.
Burchett, at the time, said:
This shouldn’t be a partisan issue, but Senate Democrats completely disrespected my friend Marsha’s attempts to find out who participated in Epstein’s disgusting business so we can hold them accountable. We should all be concerned about the horrors of sex trafficking, especially when it involves kids, but I’ll call on Republicans to show some leadership in this field if the Democrats insist on stonewalling it like this.
Now, it appears that we will be getting the plane's flight logs early next year - although it is no thanks to Congress.
ABC News reports:
A federal judge in New York has ordered a vast unsealing of court documents in early 2024 that will make public the names of scores of Jeffrey Epstein's associates . . . Anyone who did not successfully fight to keep their name out of the civil case could see their name become public -- including Epstein's victims, co-conspirators, and innocent associates.
It is expected that 177 names of Epstein's associates will be released, and the release of the documents is currently scheduled to take place on Jan. 1, 2024.
