With Ukraine plunged into darkness, the EU searches for justice By Euronews Brussels bureau Ukraine has been plunged into darkness. Russia has marked the nine-month anniversary of the war with a new barrage of brutal attacks against Ukraine’s battered energy grid, robbing millions of power and water. The shelling was so devastating that it left half of neighbouring Moldova without electricity. The widespread destruction is raising fears of a massive exodus of refugees ahead of the winter season. Against this backdrop of desolation and horror, the European Parliament passed this week a strongly-worded resolution declaring Russia a “state sponsor of terrorism” over the “brutal and inhumane” acts inflicted upon Ukraine and its population. “I see this resolution mostly as a political statement and an important sign of solidarity,” Sergey Lagodinsky, a German MEP who sits with the Greens, told Euronews. Although the text has no legal implications, its content is highly symbolic. Shortly after MEPs approved the resolution by an overwhelming margin, the European Parliament’s website was hacked by a “sophisticated cyberattack” and became temporarily unavailable. “What do you call a state that attacks citizens, that is guilty of over 40,000 documented war crimes? A state that tries to kill civilians by freezing them to death?” said Vlad Gheorghe, a Romanian MEP from Renew Europe. “This is a very important step, but it can also be a step that leads to more freezing of Russian state assets and giving those straight back to Ukraine.” The confiscation of Russian assets has become an acute dilemma for the European Union. I'm grateful for Christian friends in the USA who presented me with the whole truth about the Plymouth Rock Pilgrims and their disastrous experiment with "share and share alike" socialism. (See email below.) Similar experiments have been done by teachers who gave all students the same marks based on class average (it rapidly goes downhill), and notoriously by a man on Halloween who made sure all the kids had the same amount by taking from any who had more and giving to any who had less when they converged at his place (bringing shock, tears and anger to the bunch).
The best experiment of all was in the book of Acts where Christians started out selling everything and sharing equally, then quickly was adjusted to a much more realistic way of helping each other. Naive social justice advocates don't know the whole story here either.

Ron DeSantis is a rock star among Republicans voters nationwide.
While Americans in other states were forced to live under strict pandemic rules and mandates, Ron DeSantis:
· lifted the lockdown orders,
· banned masks and vaccine mandates, and
· turned the Sunshine State into an “oasis of freedom” for the entire world.
But DeSantis was only beginning to fight.
He then took on the woke Left by removing:
· Critical Race Theory from all curricula,
· prohibiting males from competing in women’s sports,
· stopping leftists from grooming children into their homosexual and transgender lifestyle, and
· restoring parental rights in education.
DeSantis brought national attention to Biden’s border crisis by sending two planes carrying 50 illegal aliens to Martha’s Vineyard in the sanctuary state of Massachusetts.
And he also signed a bill:
· banning abortion after 15 weeks and
· ensuring the integrity of Florida’s elections.
Of course, the Democrats and the left-wing media viciously attacked and smeared DeSantis day in and day out for the past two years.
But DeSantis is delivering results that make it hard for the Left to attack him.
According to a press release from DeSantis’ office, Florida has created jobs for 30 consecutive months.
Private sector job growth in Florida has exceeded the nation’s for the past 19 consecutive months.
Even with the devastating impact from Category Four Hurricane Ian, the October 2022 economic data report showed Florida’s labor force grew by 36,000.
The private sector added 35,000 over the month, while the national labor force shrank.
“Florida’s economic resiliency is unmatched in the country – no other state could withstand the direct impact of a Category 4 hurricane and continue to grow jobs in the same month,” DeSantis said. “We have made record investments in our infrastructure and workforce while building a record budgetsurplus and providing record tax reduction for Floridians.”
DeSantis shared the news in a post on social media.
