Un-Vaxxed Albertan Fights for her Life:
On this special episode of the Alberta Roundup, Rachel Emmanuel interviews Sheila Annette Lewis — a Canadian woman who’s been denied an organ transplant because she refused the Covid-19 vaccine. An Alberta appeal court has said it is a virtually certainty Lewis will die without the transplant.
Lewis has recently been given a new hope by an American hospital which has agreed to give her the transplant if testing reveals her body is still healthy enough. But she’ll need to fundraise $600,000 USD for the surgery. She’s currently crowdfunding through GiveSendGo.
Lewis expresses frustration that the details of her case have been hidden under a publication ban, but also explains why she keeps fighting against all odds. Tune into the Alberta Roundup now!

WARNING: Google bans Canadian news content across all platforms:
Google announced that it’s blocking Canadian news links across its platforms as the fallout from Bill C-18 continues.
The company claims the Trudeau government hasn’t given it reason to believe the regulatory process will improve, which it said sparked the move Thursday afternoon.
“As a result, we have informed the government that we have made the difficult decision that when the law takes effect, we will be removing links to Canadian news from our Search, News, and Discover products and will no longer be able to operate Google News Showcase in Canada,” Kent Walker, Google & Alphabet’s president of global affairs, said in a company blog post.
Bill C-18, the Online News Act, would require big tech platforms like Google and Meta to pay news publishers to post their links should either-company profit from doing so.
But Walker says that the legislation isn’t fair since other companies post news links free of charge and that it would cause uncertainty for the companies’ products.
Walked added that C-18 “exposes us to uncapped financial liability simply for facilitating Canadians’ access to news from Canadian publishers.”
Google has been threatening for over a year to pull Canadian content from its platforms if it could not agree to more favourable terms with the federal government.
The company says it already supports Canadian journalism through programs and partnerships, and Walker’s blog post said it was prepared to do more.
Through its Google News Showcase program, the company negotiated agreements spanning 150 news media organizations across the country.
“Last year alone, we linked to Canadian news publications more than 3.6 billion times—at no charge—helping publishers make money through ads and new subscriptions,” Walker wrote.
“This referral traffic from links has been valued at $250 million CAD annually. We’re willing to do more; we just can’t do it in a way that breaks the way that the web and search engines are designed to work, and that creates untenable product and financial uncertainty.”
The government hasn’t responded to news Google is scuttling Canadian content across its platforms.
However, earlier this week, Canadian Heritage Minister Pablo Rodriguez said the government will support newsrooms if tech giants go forward with blocking Canadian news.
“We have to make sure that newsrooms are open, that (journalists) are able to do their job and (they) have the resources necessary,” Rodriguez said.
Meta has also stated that it is not in negotiations with the government and that it will also block Canadian news content from its platforms. [The TRUE NORTH Media]

Gun-toting pregnant woman, her husband turns the tables on armed felon who attacked, threatened them: 'I've never been happier to be a gun carrier':
A gun-toting pregnant woman and her husband turned the tables on an armed felon who attacked and threatened them in front of a Houston gas station store Tuesday evening.
What are the details?
The woman — who's nine months pregnant — told KTRK-TV she parked in front of the All Season Food Store just before 5:30 p.m. to deliver a meal for her husband who works there.
The couple asked the station to conceal their identities for the story and interview due to safety concerns.
What are the details?
The woman — who's nine months pregnant — told KTRK-TV she parked in front of the All Season Food Store just before 5:30 p.m. to deliver a meal for her husband who works there.
The couple asked the station to conceal their identities for the story and interview due to safety concerns.
Two armed men were in a silver SUV parked nearby, the station added.
"I got out of my car, and immediately the guy in the passenger seat of the silver car got out with an AR and told me that I startled him," the woman told KTRK.
The woman's husband came outside after she called him, the station said, and the man with the rifle got into the driver's seat of a green Dodge Challenger parked next to the SUV.
Then the SUV driver began to cause trouble, KTRK noted.
The husband told the station that the SUV driver — now identified by police as 39-year-old Mario Duque — repeatedly asked him, "Do you want to die tonight?"
Surveillance video shows the couple ignoring Duque, who pointed a gun at them multiple times, KTRK reported, adding that Duque also approached the husband and pistol-whipped him.
Oh, how the tables turned:
With that, the woman pulled a gun from her bag and shot Duque, and her husband shot him, too, the station said.
"Thank God we had our guns," the woman told KTRK. "I've never been happier to be a gun carrier."
Video also shows the woman holding Duque at gunpoint until help arrived, the station said.
"A bystander told him, 'Hey man, if you think you're dying, you might as well pray to God for forgiveness,'" the husband added to KTRK.
More from the station:
Duque, a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms, remained hospitalized Wednesday. He is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful carrying of a weapon. HPD said a second suspect was also involved but remains on the loose.
The woman was adamant to KTRK that nothing was going to happen before her due date: "No, they were not taking out my baby daddy before July 11."

Illegal immigrant protected by sanctuary policy accused of attempting kidnapping in VA:
The same kind of open borders policy championed by President Joe Biden from day one of his administration has once again yielded horrific results, as earlier this month, an illegal immigrant with a history of criminal conduct allegedly attempted to kidnap a young child who was asleep in her own Annandale, Virginia home, as Arlington ABC affiliate WJLA reports.
According to the outlet, the June 15 incident led to the arrest of 24-year-old Hyrum Baquedano Rodriguez, a native of Honduras.
At roughly 4 a.m. on the morning in question, police were summoned to an apartment building on Little River Turnpike, where a woman explained that she woke to the sound of her window blinds rattling before hearing her daughter crying.
Upon seeing her four-year-old child lying on the floor and noticing that the living room window had been opened, the mother learned that someone had come into the residence and attempted to abduct the little girl.
Though an immediate search of the area did not produce a suspect, fingerprints taken from the scene facilitated police identification of Rodriguez as the individual they were seeking, and the man was apprehended and taken into custody the following day.
The arrest was by no means Rodriguez's first brush with the law, as he has had numerous encounters with police since his first engagement with U.S. Border Patrol in Yuma, Arizona back in 2018.
A spokesperson from Immigration and Customs Enforcement told Fox5 in Washington that the Rodriguez was issued a Notice to Appear a few days later and that in October of 2018, an immigration judge granted him a $15,000 bond, which he was able to meet.
Eventually, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations placed immigration detainers on the Honduran man with the Fairfax County (VA) Adult Detention Center on four separate occasions, but authorities there ignored those requests and released Rodriguez each time they encountered him.
As the ICE spokesperson explained, the agency “lodges immigration detainers against non-citizens who have been arrested for criminal activity nd taken into custody by state or local law enforcement. An immigration detainer is a request from ICE to state or local law enforcement agencies to notify ICE as early as possible before a removable noncitizen is released from their custody.”
However, in keeping with the lax – or nonexistent – immigration enforcement approach favored by Democrats in recent years, Fairfax County Sheriff Stacey Kincaid terminated her jurisdiction's Intergovernmental Service Agreement with ICE back in 2018, arguably setting the stage for someone like Rodriguez to be roaming free to continue his criminal activity.
As a result of Kincaid's decision, Fairfax essentially became a sanctuary county and resolved to no longer “honor any requests to detain individuals subject to an administrative detention request unless there is a corresponding lawfully issued criminal detainer.”
While the Biden administration does not seem to give a second thought to the risks posed by indiscriminately ignoring ICE detainers and setting criminals – who are already here illegally – loose on the street to offend again, the consequences of such a policy are very real to the mother of the attempted kidnapping target.
“I'm traumatized, to be quite honest with you. She is four years old,” the frightened parent explained.
The concerned mother continued, “It's not that she's not comfortable, but you can tell there are signs of trauma that's left behind form this, and I'm going to have to get her some type of counseling, as well as myself,” and in this instance, sadly, the damage to this innocent preschooler was entirely avoidable. BIDEN DENIES LYING ABOUT HIS INVOLVEMENT IN SON HUNTER’S BUSINESS DEALS
BY SARAH MAY
JUNE 27, 2023
https://washingtondigest.com/biden-denies-lying-about-his-involvement-in-son-hunters-business-deals/?
Amid bombshell whistleblower disclosures suggesting direct involvement in his son's foreign business entanglements, President Joe Biden on Monday again denied ever having spoken to Hunter Biden about his lucrative overseas dealings, as the New York Post reports.
The president offered a succinct “no” when he was asked directly by Fox News' Jacqui Heinrich at an event in the East Room of the White House if he had been dishonest in prior statements disclaiming any knowledge or involvement in his son's endeavors.
Allegations Mount:
The president's denial – consistent as it has been – comes close on the heels of new allegations from IRS whistleblowers suggesting that not only were both Bidens involved in questionable relationships with foreign entities, but also that the Department of Justice actively thwarted investigation into those activities.
As Fox News has noted, IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley recently disclosed a 2017 WhatsApp message thread said to have taken place between Hunter Biden and Henry Zhao, CEO of a Chinese government linked enterprise.
Hunter Biden allegedly told Zhao, “I am sitting here with my father, and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled.”
The younger Biden continued, “And, Z, if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang, or the chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next toe and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge, that you will regret not following my direction, and he added, “I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father.”
Message Received?
As the Post further notes, documentation that was released back in 2020 by Senate Republicans probing Hunter Biden revealed that within 10 days of the WhatsApp exchange, a sum of approximately $5 million started making its way to the Biden family's various bank accounts.
As the Post noted separately, Shapley and fellow IRS investigators were aghast at what the text thread seemed to imply, saying “[t]hat was more indication that the dad might have been involved.”
However, according to the whistleblower, agents' attempts to follow up on those findings by securing GPS location data for Hunter and Joe Biden on the date in question were thwarted by the Justice Department.
Photos taken on the day the texts were sent have revealed that at the very least, Hunter Biden was present at his father's Wilmington, Delaware residence, but finding an answer to the question of whether the pair were indeed together when threats to the Chinese businessman were made was, according to Shapley, something in which the DOJ was uninterested.
Impeachment Tipping Point?
While Joe Biden is standing firm in his repeated denials of involvement in – or even discussion of – his son's business dealings, one prominent Republican senator has stepped forward to suggest that the need for an impeachment inquiry has now become undeniable.
During an episode of his podcast, Verdict with Ted Cruz, the Texas lawmaker himself was asked at what point accusations about Hunter Biden would become a real problem for the president, and the lawmaker replied, “It is right now,” as the Post noted separately.
“Look, this WhatsApp is direct evidence of Joe Biden abusing his government power to enrich his son, and, assuming 10% for the big guy, to enrich himself,” said Cruz, referencing the nickname supposedly used for the elder Biden in family conversations about foreign business endeavors.
Cruz continued, “Remember, this WhatsApp says, 'we want to know.' This is not just me, Hunter, just mooching off my dad.” The senator added, “Of course the House needs to investigate it, but the stunning [thing] this is what the IRS whistleblower says is [Attorney General] Merrick Garland prevented an investigation even into this message.”
Not Just China:
While Hunter – and potentially Joe – Biden's wheeling and dealing with a certain Chinese businessman is the most recent damning scenario to make headlines, allegations of nefarious involvement with enterprises in Mexico, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine have also continued to swirl around the duo for years.
The Republican-led House Oversight Committee, for instance, is currently reviewing information provided to the FBI by a confidential source suggesting that a top executive at Ukrainian energy firm Burisma paid $10 million to the Bidens in exchange for favorable policy outcomes.
Despite the growing list of allegations implicating not only Hunter Biden, but also Joe Biden, the first son's lawyer, Chris Clark, recently declared that – at least in the case of the WhatsApp exchange – Americans should conclude not that there was any corruption involving the president, but simply that his client had been in the grips of a “horrible addiction” that distorted his actions and from which he is now recovering.
Though the president himself has remained unwavering in his denials of involvement with Hunter's alleged misdeeds, with every new revelation to the contrary, that position may become increasingly untenable – at least in the court of public opinion. [The American Digest]
Jim Jordan considering launching new Hillary Clinton probe:
https://americandigest.com/jim-jordan-consider-launching-new-hillary-clinton-probe/?
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) said he is open to a new investigation of former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Jordan shared the remarks during an interview on Fox News about John Durham's report about the Trump-Russia bank collusion hoax.
The comments:
“They not only didn’t investigate her like they did President Trump, but they also gave her campaign a defensive briefing!” Jordan said. “They should have done the same for President Trump because they literally had no evidence.”
“We’re going to give that a good hard look,” he continued. “But nothing is off the table because it is critical the American people understand how their government, their agencies have been turned on them, the taxpayer, and we get all the facts out there.”
The background:
"The 'Clinton Plan' was obtained by the FBI while it was relying on the 'Steele Dossier,' a discredited report of lurid allegations of Trump’s personal sexual activity, which the FBI knew was being funded and promoted by the Clinton campaign, according to the report," the Daily Caller stated.
"Durham quotes information from a meeting between the Dossier’s author, former British intelligence agent Christopher Steele, and FBI agents, as well as texts between FBI officials, to demonstrate that the agents knew the evidence was connected to Clinton," it added.
Time for consequences?
Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) called for serious consequences over Hillary Clinton's actions noted in the Durham Report.
"Hillary Clinton should be in jail over her possession of classified materials," he tweeted.
"Let's not forget she refused to turn these over and had a subordinate destroy evidence," he added.
The latest information shows that the Russia bank scandal was not something caused by Trump but was an effort to discredit him led by Hillary Clinton's campaign.
The details should give lawmakers the facts needed to determine whether to move forward on a new investigation of Clinton now that the report has been completed. [The American Digest]
