Love's Challenge:
“And above all things have fervent love for one another, for ‘love will cover a multitude of sins.’” 1 Peter 4:8
Here’s the truth — loving others is challenging. God designed it that way. Love, as He defines it, is meant to be a powerful witness of His character and His love. In the early Church, believers were a stark contrastto the rest of the world because their hearts were ablaze with love for one another. Now that’s easy when all is good and right in our corner of the world, but sometimes the greatest challenge to love comes when we’ve been wronged, when loving doesn’t seem reasonable. It’s in those times that His agape love flowing from us shows the world a better way. What just might be the greatest display of love outside of giving up your life for someone, is for you to give someone your forgiveness. The Lord is not asking us to feel fervent love, but to live it. You may shout, “but it isn’t fair!” and you would be right. Love isn’t fair. Just ask Jesus. On the Cross, the innocent died for the guilty; definitely not fair, but incredibly powerful. When you’re caught in the middle of a conflict and you choose to love like Jesus, it reaches others at a practical level that words alone cannot. These words sum this up well: “Preach the Gospel at all times. When necessary, use words.” [Pastor: Jack Hibbs]

I could be wrong, but I think this is the first time an official political body has ever publicly declared that Biden is not the president. That's a bold move because it could make them (the Texas Republicans) look like conspiracy theorists and risk losing support of the voters. I would guess that taking this public stand means they are confident to be representing the general attitude of the people. So, if/when the Texas Republicans win whatever next election, they will not have won by campaigning on the premise of wanting yet another useless investigation. Instead, the voters will have been fully aware that they boldly declare Biden is not the president. From there, maybe nothing will happen. But there is a new level of satisfaction here. And the potential fallout is much greater than merely calling for another investigation. [Scott Card]

💥Taliban searching for Afghans they claim are Canadian spies:
Two hundred Afghans, mostly women who worked on Canadian-funded aid projects in Afghanistan, are being tracked down by the Taliban and are in hiding after the militants obtained their names from a confiscated cellphone.
A pair of Afghan women, whose names were on the seized phone, say their lives are in imminent danger because the Taliban obtained their phone numbers, pictures of themselves, and saw text messages where the women criticized the country’s hardline Islamist rulers.
The women said the Taliban arrested a colleague, accusing him of being a Canadian spy, and took his phone. The militants found a WhatsApp group on the device consisting of 200 Afghans who were recounting incidents of Taliban torture and murder, report The Globe and Mail’s Janice Dickson and Robert Fife. They also spoke about the difficulty of getting Ottawa to grant them special visas. The Taliban consider all 200 Afghans to be Canadian spies. [Globe & Mail]

💥Graphic Pro-Choice Protest Held at Justice Coney Barrett's Home:
A group of pro-choice activists donning fake blood and babies strapped to their hands protested outside of Justice Amy Coney Barrett's home this weekend.
According to the New York Post, protesters marched in Falls Church, Virginia, the location of the judge's home, on Saturday. They held signs, including one with a coat hanger reading, "not going back."
The protesters, a group of youth activists called Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights, taped plastic baby dolls to their hands.
"This is what Amy's America looks like," one protester said in a video. "Children will be forced to give birth to children. Women will be silenced. Women will be invalidated. Women will be told they are less than."
"And that is not OK. We cannot let that happen. ... You can't let this future happen to us. It's not fair."
A tweet from the group, along with an accompanying video of the protest, read, "We aren't incubators! Youth procession delivered baby dolls to Amy Coney Barrett. We aren't protesting to change the minds of women-hating fascists. We're calling on the pro-choice majority, on YOU, to get in the streets to STOP #SCOTUS from overturning Roe."
