Knowing that this will be his final imprisonment, and his departure is at hand, Paul looks back over his life with Christ. His word choices fought, finished, and kept give a nod to the Olympic games of his day. Paul’s athletic metaphor gives us three important insights to carefully consider. First, Paul reminds us that we struggle against an adversary in an invisible and spiritual arena. However, Paul declares that he has wrestled, struggled hard, and overcome. It was a “good fight” for the highest cause. Secondly, Paul says, “I have finished my race.” He faithfully kept his eyes on the goal of winning this Christian race and completed his course. In the end, he could say, “I have kept the faith.”
In the ancient Olympics, there were rules to be obeyed. After winning an event, an examination was conducted to see if the winner had won lawfully. Second Timothy 2:5 tells us, “…if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.” Paul’s declaration, “I have,” expresses complete confidence that he had every reason to expect the prize. One way to address that problem would be for Ottawa to replace the CHT (Canada Health Transfer) with a transfer of tax points to the provinces, as a recent report written by Peter Nicholson, a former adviser to Paul Martin, for the University of Saskatchewan’s Graduate School of Public Policy recommends. This would entail reducing federal taxes by a certain amount and allowing the provinces to raise them without increasing Canadians’ overall tax burden.”

The fundamental problem is that we are the only developed country where the government has a monopoly on hospital care. All other OECD countries have mixed private-public systems and (with the exception of the United States) universal systems that guarantee citizens equal access. Patients in these countries have a lot more choice than Canadians. They can be treated in public or private hospitals, with the government or their private insurance paying for the treatment. Wait times are non-existent or very short, and nobody is denied care because of low income. What we need is for Ottawa to stop meddling in this exclusive provincial jurisdiction, and for provinces to implement reforms in line with those of all other developed countries.

Why you should worry if you have a Chinese Smartphone:
Samantha Hoffman is an analyst of Chinese security issues at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (Aspi). She recently published a paper entitled Engineering Global Consent: The Chinese Communist Party’s Data-Driven Power Expansion.
Internet pioneers heralded a time when information would be set free, giving people everywhere unfiltered access to the world’s knowledge and bringing about the decline of authoritarian regimes… that’s not really happened has it? Bill Clinton said that, for China, controlling free speech online would be like “nailing Jell-O to the wall”. I wish he had been right. But unfortunately, there was too much focus on the great firewall of China and not enough on how the Chinese Communist party was trying to shape its external environment.
When did China pivot from seeing the internet as a US-generated threat to something it could use to discipline and punish its own population? It’s not just the internet, it’s technology in general. If you go back to even the late 1970s and early 80s, the way the Chinese Communist party (CCP) talks about technology is as a tool of social management. It’s a way of not only coercive control, but also sort of cooperative control where you participate in your own management. It’s this idea of shaping the environment, shaping how people think, how they’re willing to act before they even know they’re making a choice. That’s the party’s idea.
When did that develop into what is called the social credit system? Former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin spoke about this in 2000. He said we need a social credit system to merge rule by law and rule by virtue. I don’t see it as different from the way Hannah Arendt describes how regimes attempt to make the law inseparable from ethics in The Origins of Totalitarianism.
How does the social credit system work for the average citizen? As they are going about their lives, are they continually earning and losing points based on their behaviour? A pop cultural reference might be the Black Mirror episode Nosedive. But it isn’t the same. It’s not really a number score that goes up and down. There are multiple inputs. So, you have, say, legal inputs, like a court record, and financial inputs. Then there are third-party inputs, such as surveillance video or data about your sentiment on social media. The system includes blacklists, records on public websites, and platforms to support decisions on creditworthiness that integrate things like “sentiment analysis”. This applies to companies and individuals. Muji’s Shanghai branch had a mark of dishonesty on its credit record with the Shanghai government because one of its products was labelled “Made in Taiwan”.
The number of people affected is enormous: 17.5 million people were prevented from buying flights in 2018. Is there much pushback from the Chinese population about this system? An average person might not see how it’s affecting them yet. Social credit is technology augmenting existing control methods. So if you’re used to that system, you aren’t necessarily seeing the change yet. Blacklists aren’t new, but the technology supporting this social management is. And over time, as it becomes more effective, that’s where more people will notice the impact.
So there isn’t much concept of user privacy or anonymising data in China? Privacy matters to the average Chinese citizen and there are privacy regulations in place. But privacy stops where the party’s power begins. And so, you know, the party state might put controls on how companies can share data. But again privacy stops where the party’s power begins. And that’s a huge difference in the system.
One thing that’s interesting to keep in mind is the system itself. When we think about China’s authoritarianism, we think about surveillance cameras, we think about facial recognition. But we forget that a lot of the technology involved provides convenience. And control happens for convenience. Some of the technologies involved in increasing the party’s power are actually providing services – maybe Mussolini and his timely trains is a useful way of thinking about it.

The most egregious example of this surveillance technology would be in Xinjiang for controlling the Uighur [Muslim] population? The most visibly coercive forms of what the party is doing are unfolding in Xinjiang. It’s a virtual police state. There are QR codes on people’s doors for when the party goes in to check on who is in. Some researchers have found that if someone leaves through the back door instead of the front door, that can be considered suspicious behaviour.
Is the wider Chinese population aware of how the technology is being used in Xinjiang? Do they realise this is a more enhanced version of what we’ve got in their own lives? I don’t think people are aware of how bad it is. A lot of people don’t believe Western reporting. If they see it. Even if they do believe it, propaganda has shaped a bad public opinion of the Uighurs.
Do you think the Chinese Communist party has a file on you? I imagine that they probably have a file on a lot of outspoken researchers. I try not to think about what mine would look like. In general, a lot of researchers on China have a fear, whether it’s conscious or unconscious, about losing access or the ability to go to China.
You have written about your fears that a commercial deal struck between Huawei and a Turkish mobile operator could be used to monitor the exiled Uighur population in Turkey. Chinese tech giants like Huawei are signing agreements for smart cities globally – in April we at Aspi counted 75. These agreements include public security, licence-plate and facial recognition tools. As a local government you’re taking what is the cheapest and best product for your city. You’re deploying it in ways you’ve decided are reasonable, but what might be forgotten is that these services require data to be sent back to the company to keep it up to date – and who else has access to that data once the manufacturer has it? One agreement was made with Turkish mobile provider Turkcell. Turkey has about 10,000 Uighurs living in exile – that system could be used to further control and harass exiles and family members in China.
More generally, I found that the party central propaganda department has made cooperation agreements with a number of major Chinese tech companies. As their products are bedded in they become ways of collecting tons of data. A language translation tool, for instance, doesn’t sound like a surveillance tool but it’s a way to collect a lot of data. Technically it’s not different from what Google does but their intent is different – it’s about state security.
So western governments should be wary of installing Chinese-designed tech infrastructure in their cities? Yes. It’s perhaps uncomfortable for a lot of people to acknowledge, but the party is very clear about its intent. Its intent relates to state security. The party talks about “discourse power” – the party’s version of the truth being the only thing that’s accepted. The Chinese government ultimately controls all Chinese companies through its security legislation. You might be comfortable with someone collecting data to tailor advertising to you, but are you comfortable with sharing your data with a regime that has 1.5 million Uighurs imprisoned on the basis of their ethnic identity?
So, we should be cautious about buying Chinese smartphones and smart home products? I would be. You may think “I’m not researching the CCP or testifying in Congress, so I don’t have anything to worry about”. But you don’t really know how that data is being collected and potentially used to shape your opinion and shape your decisions, among other things. Even understanding advertising and consumer preferences can feed into propaganda. Taken together, that can be used to influence an election or feelings about a particular issue.
Some of these elements of monitoring and nudging are present in western life. For instance, fitness tracking that earns you discounts on health insurance, or local authorities using machine learning to identify potential abuse victims. Should we be careful about letting this stuff into society? We need to be very careful. It’s easy to see what the benefits are, but we aren’t adequately defining the risks. Some of the problems can be dealt with by introducing more data literacy programmes, so that individuals understand, say, the privacy issues concerning a home-security camera.
The Chinese party state is going to take advantage of the weaknesses in liberal democracies, whether they’re legal or cultural. They take advantage of our really weak data privacy laws. GDPR is a good step, but it doesn’t really deal with the core problem of technology that’s providing a service. By its nature the company providing the service collects and uses data. Who has access to that data, their ability to process it, and their intent is the problem.

Morning Update:
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and senior aides were warned on at least two occasions that MPs should be cautious in their political dealings with former Ontario Liberal cabinet minister Michael Chan because of alleged ties to China’s consulate in Toronto, national-security sources say.
The Canadian Security Intelligence Service has a dossier on Chan that contains information on his activities in the 2019 and 2021 federal election campaigns and meetings with suspected Chinese intelligence operatives, according to the two security sources. The Globe and Mail is not identifying the sources, who risk prosecution under the Security of Information Act.
Chan, now deputy mayor of the city of Markham, told The Globe that he is a loyal Canadian and accused CSIS of character assassination, saying they never once interviewed him about his alleged involvement with the Chinese consulate.

As Canadian governments increase their reliance on electric vehicles (EV), the question of whether vehicles can maintain expected performance in winter weather conditions.
This month, the RCMP unveiled the Tesla Model Y as the first EV to be added to the Mounties’ vehicle fleet, with tests of the electric Ford Mustang Mach-E and the Ford F-150 coming soon.
However, a study published in late 2022 found that many EVs have problems maintaining expected performance. It estimates a significant drop in the amount of miles-per-charge EV batteries can sustain.
The study found disparities between vehicles in their ability to withstand cold weather conditions, with cars like the Jaguar I-Pace only losing 3% of its range, while the Ford Mustang Mach-E lost 30% of its range.
The worst performer in the study is the Chevrolet Bolt, which lost 32% of its range in winter temperatures between 20-30°F (-1 to -6°C) and up to half of its range in -40°C.

Monday’s REPORT - Items of INTEREST:
The HISTORY OF NESARA LAW: The NESARA Law is the most ground breaking reformation to sweep not only the US, but our planet in its entire history. The NESARA act does away with the Federal Reserve Bank, the IRS, the shadow government, and much more. The Global Alliance plans to implement a copy of NESARA called GESARA for the peoples of the world.
· A Farmer Claims Lawsuit that eventually became NESARA Law, was started in the 1970s after farmers began losing their property to the banks based on fraudulent contracts, money manipulation and court fraud.
· By 1978 retired Military General Roy Schwasinger Jr. had brought a lawsuit against US Inc. by the Farmer’s Union that began working it’s way through the US Court System.
· In the process of the lawsuit going through the US court system it was brought out in Court that in the early 1900s the privately owned US Inc. corporation owned by bankers Rothschilds, Rockefellers and others, had illegally changed the Constitution so they could take over the US economic system to establish and own the Federal Reserve System and IRS.
· US Taxpayer dollars were collected by the IRS through the independently owned US Inc, then sent to the British Crown’s independently owned City of London, then the monies went on to the independently owned Vatican Bank, where it was dispersed to their Central Banks across the world. About a month later the monies were returned to the New York Central Bank, where US citizens were charged interest to use their own monies – thus running up the National Debt.
· By the year 2000 the Farmer’s Union suit had worked its way up through the Court System to the Supreme Court, which ruled in favor of the farmers claims.
· The successful lawsuit was then presented to Congress, but it took the Navy Seals and Delta Force, guns in hand, to make sure Congress passed the NESARA Law, National Economic Security and Reformation Act.
· Bill Clinton was US President at the time but had no interest in signing NESARA into law. On October 10, 2000, under orders from U.S. military generals, elite Naval Seals and Delta Force stormed the White House and under gunpoint forced Bill Clinton to sign NESARA. During this time Secret Service and White House security personnel were ordered to stand down, disarmed, and allowed to witness this event under a gag order.
· Clinton never implemented NESARA, nor have any US presidents since – except for Donald Trump, who was about to accomplish the task through help of the Global Alliance.
· In 2001 after much negotiation the Supreme Court justices ordered the current Congress to pass resolutions ‘approving’ NESARA. This took place on September 9, 2001, eighteen months after NESARA became law.
· Certain members of Congress ruled NESARA be held in secret under a gag order and changed the name to National Economic Stabilization and Recovery Act.
· Many powerful groups have tried to prevent the implementation of NESARA. From its very inception Bush Sr., the corporate government, major bank houses, and the Carlyle Group have opposed NESARA. To maintain secrecy, the case details and the docket number were sealed and revised within the official congressional registry, to reflect a commemorative coin and then again it was revised even more recently. This is why there are no public Congressional Records and why a search for this law will not yield the correct details until after the reformations are made public.
· The NESARA law requires that at least once a year, an effort be made to announce the law to the public.
· Three current US Supreme Court judges control the committee in charge of NESARA’s announcement. These Judges have used their overall authority to secretly sabotage NESARA’s announcement.
· On September 10, 2001, George Bush Sr. moved into the White house to steer his son on how to block the announcement. The next day, on September 11, 2001, at 10 am Eastern Daylight Time, Alan Greenspan was scheduled to announce the new US Treasury Bank system, debt forgiveness for all U.S. citizens, and abolishment of the IRS as the first part of the public announcements of NESARA. Just before the announcement at 9 am, Bush Sr. ordered the demolition of World Trade Center to stop the international banking computers on floors one and two, in the North Tower from initiating the new U.S. Treasury Bank system. Explosives in the World Trade Center were planted by both CIA and Mossad operatives and detonated remotely in Building 7 which was demolished later that day to cover-up their crime.
· Remote pilot technology was used in a flyover event to deliver a payload of explosives into the Pentagon at the exact location of the White Knights in their new Naval Command Center who were coordinating activities supporting NESARA’s implementation nationwide. With the announcement of NESARA stopped dead in its tracks, George Bush Sr. decapitated any hopes of returning the government back to the people.
· Few have ever heard of this law due to an extremely strict gag order placed upon politicians, media personnel, and bank officers. Members of Congress will not tell us any of this because they have been ordered by the U.S. Supreme Court Justices to ‘deny’ the existence of NESARA, or face charges of treason punishable by death.
· Some members of Congress have been charged with ‘obstruction.’ When Minnesota Senator Paul Wellstone was about to break the gag order, but before he could, his small passenger plane crashed killing his wife, daughter, and himself.
· If fear isn’t enough to keep Congress in line, money is. The CIA routinely bribes senators with stolen loot from the bank roll programs. Every senator has been bribed with a minimum of $200 million dollars deposited in a Bank of America account in Canada.
· You will never hear the media networks report about NESARA. To maintain silence, major news networks such as CNN are paid in the tune of $2 billion dollars annually.
· Not only is Congress bribed but the entire Joint Chiefs of Staff and upper tier of the government including the president receives these payments as well. Only the Provost Marshall has the lawful authority to arrest these individuals, but sadly he won’t do his job either. It seems the United State military is full of pencil pushing politicians who care more about advancement then doing their job.
· And not surprisingly, much disinformation about NESARA can be found on the Internet. What is on the Internet about NESARA is CIA agent Harvey Barnard’s NESARA law the National Economic Stabilization and Recovery Act, which would have made reforms to the economy and replace the income tax with a national sales tax. This law was rejected by Congress in the 1990’s.
· But there is little mention of the National Economic Security and Reformation Act on Wikipedia or its ramifications. September 11, 2001.
NESARA implements the following changes:
1. Zeros out all credit card, mortgage, and other bank debt due to illegal banking and government activities. This is the Federal Reserve’s worst nightmare, a “jubilee” or a forgiveness of debt.
2. Abolishes the income tax.
3. Abolishes the IRS. Employees of the IRS will be transferred into the US Treasury national sales tax area.
4. Creates a 14% flat rate non-essential ‘new items only’ sales tax revenue for the government. In other words, food and medicine will not be taxed; nor will used items such as old homes.
5. Increases benefits to senior citizens.
6. Returns Constitutional Law to all courts and legal matters.
7. Reinstates the original Title of Nobility amendment. Hundreds of thousands of Americans under the control of foreign powers will lose their citizenship, be deported to other countries, and barred from reentry for the remainder of their life. And millions of people will soon discover their college degrees are now worthless paper.
8. Establishes new Presidential and Congressional elections within 120 days after NESARA’s announcement. The intern government will cancel all “National Emergencies” and return us back to constitutional law.
9. Monitors elections and prevents illegal election activities of special interest groups.
10. Creates a new U.S. Treasury, ‘rainbow currency,’ backed by gold, silver, and platinum precious metals, ending the bankruptcy of the United States initiated by Franklin Roosevelt in 1933.
11. Forbids the sale of American birth certificate records as chattel property bonds by the US Department of Transportation.
12. Initiates new U.S. Treasury Bank System in alignment with Constitutional Law
13. Eliminates the Federal Reserve System. During the transition period the Federal Reserve will be allowed to operate side by side of the U.S. treasury for one year to remove all Federal Reserve notes from the money supply.
14. Restores financial privacy.
15. Retrains all judges and attorneys in Constitutional Law
16. Ceases all aggressive, U.S. government military actions worldwide.
17. Establishes peace throughout the world.
18. Releases enormous sums of money for humanitarian purposes.
19. Enables the release of over 6,000 patents of suppressed technologies that are being withheld from the public under the guise of national security, including free energy devices, antigravity, and sonic healing machines.
