The Place of the SKULL:

The story of David and Goliath is one of the best known Bible stories. We know it so well that we sometimes overlook things. For example, Goliath made his blasphemous boasts before the army of Israel for forty days. Forty is the number of testings. Jesus was tested in the wilderness for forty days. The Israelites were being tested by the Philistines.
Also, David chose five smooth stones and put them in his shepherd’s pouch. Was this because he knew that Goliath had four brothers who were giants also? (II Samuel 21:22) This story also contains the statement to Goliath that declared David’s faith in the Lord, “for the battle [is] the LORD'S, and he will give you into our hands.” (I Samuel 17:47)
After the stone from David’s slingshot sunk into the forehead of the giant, and he fell facedown before David, David took Goliath’s sword and cut off his head. And here is the remarkable part; Scripture says that David took the head to Jerusalem. At this time Jerusalem was under the control of the Jebusites. Some speculate that David took the skull of Goliath to Jerusalem when he conquered that city many years later, but Scripture says “head” and not “skull.” Others speculate that David took the head of Goliath to Jerusalem as a warning to the Jebusites that the God of Israel was able to overcome even the mighty.
The Bible does not tell us what David did with the head of Goliath in Jerusalem. Perhaps David, under the leading of the Holy Spirit, buried the head just outside of Jerusalem. Then, over one thousand years later, the prophesied descendant of David, Jesus the Messiah, was crucified on Golgotha, which means “The Place of the Skull.” I do not know if this refers to the skull of Goliath.
I do know that Calvary or Golgotha is not necessarily on a hill. We have been taught by hymns that the Cross was on a hill, but Christian hymns are not Scripture. The Gospels do not tell us that Calvary or Golgotha was on a hill.
The Greek word golgotha in the New Testament is derived from the Hebrew word gulgolet (Strong’s H1115) which also means “skull.” The letters that spell gulgolet tell an interesting story. It is spelled gimel lamed gimel lamed tav. According to the rabbis, gimel means loving kindness and culmination, and lamed means teaching. These two letters are repeated, giving an emphasis to loving kindness and teaching. The Lord repeats statements when He wants our attention. The tav means truth and perfection. It appears that the word gulgolet tells us of being taught about loving kindness. It also speaks of culmination.
The sacrifice Jesus made at the Place of the Skull was done in loving kindness, and it was the culminating sacrifice. No further sacrifice for sin is needed. And the final letter of gulgolet, the tav, completes the statement in “truth and perfection.” The sinless Lord Jesus is truth and perfection. (John 1:14)

Jordan Peterson describes how praying the Rosary transformed his wife's life:
(LifeSiteNews) — During an exclusive interview with LifeSiteNews, prominent Canadian and anti-woke psychologist Jordan Peterson described how his wife Tammy’s devotion to praying the Rosary has transformed her life.
“The daily practice of prayer that Tammy engages in has made her calmer – better able to deal with the often-intense challenges of the days, weeks, and months ahead,” he told LifeSiteNews.
“This includes the challenge of a number of serious illnesses within her immediate family (father and sister) as well as the demands of a continuous international tour and public life,” Peterson continued.
He further revealed that the Rosary has helped Tammy to focus “to a significant degree on maintaining a grateful perspective, focusing on those elements of her life characterized by love, companionship, abundance, and opportunity.”
“This, along with an equal emphasis on humility, helps her avoid the temptations of resentment, arrogance, and pride that constitute such a present danger to psychological integrity and community alike,” he continued.
Peterson told LifeSite that while he had never joined his wife in praying the Rosary, “she walked me through the practice and described to me in detail what she does and what she has learned from it.”
“This includes the salutary consequences of meditating upon and courageously and faithfully facing the tragedy, suffering, malevolence, and possibility of redemption that characterizes human life,” he added.
Peterson’s comments come in response to a video published by True Faith TV describing how praying the Rosary may have brought about Tammy’s miraculous recovery after she was diagnosed with a “very rare cancer that was 100% fatal.”
In 2015, Tammy was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma and had surgery to remove half of her kidney. Tammy later suffered from complications; last month she told LifeSiteNews that she first “experienced flank pain.”
“That symptom was later associated through biopsy with a Bellini tumor, a deadly disease,” she continued. “I was told there was no possibility of successful treatment with chemotherapy or radiation. They said surgery was my only option, that even that was improbable, and that I had a prognosis of 10 months to live.”
Tammy began praying the Rosary with her friend and recent convert to Catholicism, Queenie Yu, finding the prayer a place of peace and refuge.
“So, we would pray, and I would tell her my life story, and I would cry, but it really soothed me,” Tammy recalled in the video.
Following her lengthy stay at the Toronto hospital, Tammy travelled to Philadelphia for further tests. Before leaving, she received a blessing from her friend, Father Eric Nicolai. Nicolai also shared a novena to St. Josemaría Escrivá, the founder of Opus Dei, which Tammy says she faithfully prayed.
However, when the day came for Tammy’s surgery, doctors discovered that the medical issue had resolved itself on its own and canceled the surgery.
Tammy said that her miraculous recovery, which took place on the fifth day of her novena, is a result of God’s intervention, in addition to a radical change in her diet that involved cutting out everything but meat and water.
Following her recovery, Tammy decided to join the Catholic Church. She is set to officially enter the Catholic Church this Easter, having recently been instructed under the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, or RCIA.
Peterson revealed that Tammy’s conversion came after she discovered the identity between Christ and the Truth.
Expanding on what he means by this during his interview with LifeSiteNews, Peterson said, “There is no difference between striving to live in truth and facing the realities of life, and there is no difference between facing those realities and the Passion of Christ.”
While his wife has announced her entrance into the Catholic Church, Peterson has yet to publicly affiliate himself with one specific religion but has said he remains dedicated to searching for the truth.

· The EU's trade with Iran, increasing the Iranian regime's revenue, is doubtless making it easier for the theocratic establishment to provide weapons to Russia, repress its own people even further, strengthen its military presence in Venezuela and Cuba, help its proxies escalate their goals of trying to annihilate Israel and the Jews, and above all, top off its nuclear weapons program with which to blackmail everyone.

"Now, not later, is the time for the U.S. government to take the lead, work with partner governments and industry, and use leverage against those less inclined to cooperate, to hinder Alabuga from succeeding in providing the Russian military with thousands of Shahed-136 drones. With winter fast approaching, and Alabuga's Shahed output increasing, Russia can be expected to accelerate its Shahed-136 attacks against Ukraine's vital energy infrastructure, causing brutal living conditions for the civilian population. A key, overdue first step is for the United States and its allies to sanction JSC Alabuga and its associated companies".
The EU continues to trade with Iran -- a move also in violation of the US sanctions. Germany is the top European buyer oil and non-oil commodities from Iran. Tehran Times recently wrote:
"Germany was Iran's fourth source of import during the five-month period....Iran's import of goods in the five months of this year reached 14.4 million tons worth $24.2 billion, indicating a 7.49 percent growth in value and a 2.17 percent increase in weight, year on year...The average customs value of each ton of imported goods was 1,677 dollars in the mentioned five months."
Hundreds of European companies are, in fact, doing business with the Iranian regime. According to The National:
"A pressure group, United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI), has embarked on a campaign to persuade hundreds of businesses to sever links with Iran and will hold events in European capitals to publicly name companies that do business in the country.
"UANI said that research had led to the identification of 2,500 businesses around the world, suspected of having involvement with Iran, with hundreds in Europe. They will publish their names if they do not receive satisfactory answers.
"The companies have been contacted to seek 'clarification' about their dealings in the country.
"The pressure group has chosen Sweden, which has at least two citizens being held by Iran, to launch its campaign."
The beneficiaries of EU's increased trade with Iran are most likely the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The EU's trade with Iran, increasing the Iranian regime's revenue, is doubtless making it easier for the theocratic establishment to provide weapons to Russia, repress its own people even further, strengthen its military presence in Venezuela and Cuba, help its proxies escalate their goals of trying to annihilate Israel and the Jews, and above all, top off its nuclear weapons program with which to blackmail everyone.

The Iranian regime, probably knowing that the European Union will not take any action against it – a sad example of greed trumping not only moral clarity but national security -- is ratcheting up its construction of a drone factory in Russia, and exporting weapons to Russia. As Sky News reported in March 2023:
"Iran has secretly supplied large quantities of bullets, rockets and mortar shells to Russia for the war in Ukraine and plans to send more, a security source has told Sky News. The source claimed that two Russian-flagged cargo ships, departed an Iranian port in January bound for Russia via the Caspian Sea, carrying approximately 100 million bullets and around 300,000 shells. Ammunition for rocket launchers, mortars and machine guns was allegedly included in the shipments. The source said Moscow paid for the ammunition in cash."

He said, "We should focus on dealing with our problems and being together. … And stop the rancor. We have to bring the nation together, and we have to treat each other with a little bit of decency."

Supreme Court could take up case of Jan. 6 defendant challenging misapplication of particular obstruction statute:
A man facing multiple criminal charges for his actions during the Jan. 6 Capitol riot of 2021 petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court in July to intervene with respect to one particular count that he asserts is unwarranted and a potential violation of the constitutional rights of himself and others who are similarly situated.
Though it is not guaranteed that the Supreme Court will actually take up the case, much less rule in the petitioner's favor, his initial petition was accepted and will reportedly be considered at an upcoming conference among the justices.
Jan. 6 defendant argues particular charge was misinterpreted and misapplied.
According to the Justice Department, Edward Jacob Lang was arrested and indicted in the first few weeks after the Jan. 6 Capitol riot of 2021 and, at least initially, was charged with more than a dozen counts of various felonies and misdemeanors, and has been held in pre-trial detention ever since.
The Washington Examiner reported in July that Lang filed a petition with the Supreme Court to request that one of those charges in particular that is related to obstruction of justice be dismissed as the statute has been interpreted overbroadly by the DOJ and could be applied toward "anyone who attends a public demonstration gone awry."
That particular statute is 18 U.S.C. 1512(c)(2), which was originally crafted to go after white-collar criminals who've "corruptly" tampered with or destroyed evidence of financial crimes, or "otherwise obstructs, influences, or impedes any official proceeding," but is now being used against hundreds of Jan. 6 defendants like Lang, and carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
The charge was actually previously dismissed by a district court judge but was later reinstated by a split circuit court panel, which has resulted in the appeal filed with the Supreme Court.
Waiting for a decision that could impact hundreds of Jan. 6 cases
In a recent phone interview with Real America's Voice, host Grant Stinchfield said to the detained Lang, "You've gotta be on pins and needles awaiting to hear whether or not the Supreme Court will take this case up."
Lang replied that the "whole entire Jan. 6 community, we're all riding on this, I mean, this is what we're counting on -- that they take this case and they do the right thing," otherwise it will signal other prosecutors to continue with the "weaponization of our law code" and the "persecution" of former President Donald Trump and his supporters.
Stinchfield noted that this unprecedented use of the particular obstruction statute has been applied to more than 300 Jan. 6 defendants and that they would all be "vindicated" to an extent if the Supreme Court did decide to toss out the charge for Lang and the others.
Ball now in the justices' court
Lang's petition, filed in July, asks the Supreme Court to consider "Whether the Court of Appeals erred in concluding that application of 18 U.S.C. Section 1512(c)(2), a statute crafted to prevent tampering with evidence in 'official proceedings,' can be used to prosecute acts of violence against police officers in the context of a public demonstration that turned into a riot."
Notably, Lang does not dispute that he acted violently toward police officers -- he plans to argue his actions were in self-defense during trial -- but does dispute the applicability of the particular statute that carries a far more severe penalty than any of the other charges he faces for things like assault, disorderly conduct, and trespassing, among other things.
"Without action from this Court, hundreds, if not thousands, of Americans will face substantial prison sentences for doing no more than speaking out at a protest that evolved into a dynamic conflict," the petition argued. "It is no overstatement to say the future of the First Amendment hangs in the balance. A statute intended to combat financial fraud has been transformed into a blatant political instrument to crush dissent."
According to the Supreme Court's docket for the case of Lang v. United States, the petition was accepted in July and, following the subsequent receipt of related motions and briefs, was scheduled for a conference meeting on Dec. 1, at which point the justices will decide whether or not to take up the case.
