Now, he’s making his big move before the election to inflict the maximum amount of political damage possible on Trump.
The January 6 case has been paused for most of the year while the Supreme Court weighed in on Trump’s claim of Presidential immunity.
Presidents have absolute immunity from criminal prosecutions while in office, according to the Supreme Court’s ruling.
The Supreme Court justices left it up to lower courts to decide what’s an official act.
Smith filed a superseding indictment against Trump that removed evidence that the Supreme Court said would be protected by Presidential immunity.
District Judge Tanya Chutkan – who was appointed by former President Barack Obama – granted Smith’s motion to file an oversized brief arguing this superseding indictment isn’t covered by Presidential immunity.

His 180-page oversized brief about Presidential immunity lays out all of his alleged evidence against Trump to smear the former President in the closing weeks of the election.
Portions of the evidence could be removed through Presidential immunity, but all that matters to Smith is if it gets out into the public and deals political damage to Trump.
Trump can’t defend himself because he’s covered by an unconstitutional gag order in the case.
Getting some evidence about the January 6 case out in public through the brief is the last-gasp effort of Smith to tip the election to Vice President Kamala Harris.
Trump’s legal team argued the brief would “violate the Presidential immunity doctrine, taint the integrity of these proceedings, increase the First Amendment harms resulting from the Gag Order, and violate the Justice Manual.”
The hearings involving the brief would be about whether Smith’s evidence is covered by Presidential immunity, not whether it’s accurate.
Trump’s legal team wouldn’t be able to contest the validity of misleading evidence at that stage of the legal process.
Smith could throw out whatever wild allegation he wants, even if the evidence gets contested later.
“False, public allegations by the Special Counsel’s Office, presented through a document that has no basis in the traditional criminal justice process, will undoubtedly enter the dialogue around the election,” Trump’s legal team stated.
“The Gag Order prevents President Trump from explaining in detail why the Office’s selective and biased account is inaccurate without risking contempt penalties.” Jack Smith is using a procedural hearing to run a smear campaign against Donald Trump.

Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe addressed the media about the attempt on Trump’s life at the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Rowe said the agency was in the “accountability phase” and that the responsible parties would face professional repercussions, but that Rowe wouldn’t name names.
What Rowe said from there got even worse.
“But here are some of the findings from this mission Assurance review with respect to command and control of the site in Butler, Pennsylvania, the Secret Service has the main responsibility of building the site plan. We cannot abdicate or defer our responsibilities to others,” Rowe began.
Rowe admitted that the Secret Service dropped the ball on working with local law enforcement to secure the rally site.
“Advance team personnel have an obligation to ensure that each site meets the protective requirements and principles of Secret Service methodologies. The Secret Service did not give clear guidance or direction to our local law enforcement partners. There are communication deficiencies between law enforcement personnel at the site…” Rowe continued.
Rowe added that agents knew there was a significant security threat from the building the assassin shot at Trump from, but never passed them up the chain of command to their superior officers.
“Secret Service counter snipers neutralize the threat. With respect to diligence. Line of sight issues were acknowledged but not properly mitigated. Issues were encountered the day of the visit with respect to line of sight concerns, but they were not escalated to supervisors,” Rowe added.
The scary factor that led to Trump nearly getting killed
But what sent a shiver down the spine of Trump supporters was when Rowe admitted there was a “complacency” in Trump’s detail towards security procedures that nearly got Trump killed.
“While some members of the advance team were very diligent. There was complacency on the part of others that led to a breach of security protocols. With respect to accountability. The Mission Assurance review has identified deficiencies in the advance planning and its implementation by Secret Service personnel,” Rowe concluded.
The assassin scouted the area with a drone and a ranger finder.
Officers even saw the gunman with the rangefinder.
The Secret Service photographed the gunman on the roof, and video from rally attendees showed the crowd noticing the assassin with his rifle, preparing to shoot at Trump for minutes before firing upon Trump.
And finally, the Secret Service allowed Trump to take the stage despite knowing there was a report of a suspicious individual.
Now the American people have questions about the cause of this “complacency” on Trumps’ Secret Service detail.

Harris to propose toughening Biden’s Asylum Clampdown during Border Visit:
Before Kamala’s VISIT to the BORDER:
Vice President Kamala Harris plans to announce Friday that not only would she keep in place President Joe Biden’s sweeping asylum crackdown if she wins the White House, but that she would take it even further.
During her border visit in Douglas, Arizona, the vice president will propose toughening the president’s policy that suspends asylum claims in between ports of entry when border crossings reach a certain threshold, per a senior campaign official, who was granted anonymity to not get ahead of the vice president’s speech. The senior campaign official did not provide further details of Harris’ proposal.
Friday will be Harris’ first trip to the southern border as the Democratic nominee, as she looks to cut into former President Donald Trump’s strength with voters on immigration. In addition to calling for tougher border security, Harris will also emphasize Trump’s role in killing the bipartisan border deal.

Vice President Kamala Harris walked a scrubby stretch along the U.S.-Mexico border on Friday and called for further tightening of asylum restrictions as she sought to project a tougher stance on illegal migration and address one of her biggest vulnerabilities in the November election.
Harris' push to further restrict asylum claims moves beyond President Joe Biden’s policy on an issue where her rival, former President Donald Trump, has an edge with voters. She balanced tough talk on policing the border with calls for a better way to welcome immigrants legally.
“I reject the false choice that suggests we must choose either between securing our border and creating a system that is orderly, safe and humane,” said Harris, Biden's border czar since March 2021. "We can and we must do both.”
In her first trip to the international boundary since becoming the Democrat presidential nominee, Harris chatted with local Border Patrol leaders as they strode along a rust-colored stretch of wall built during Barack Obama's presidency. Temperatures in Douglas, Arizona, neared 100 degrees during a conversation that lasted about half an hour.
Later, Harris received a closed-door briefing at the Douglas port of entry on efforts to combat drug trafficking and improve the legal flow of goods and people across the border. Border Patrol agents have “a tough job" and deserve support to do it, she said.
Harris' visit was designed as a rejoinder to Trump and his fellow Republicans, who have pounded her relentlessly over the Biden administration’s record on migration and fault the vice president for spending little time visiting the border during her time in the White House.
Immigration and border security are top issues in Arizona, the only battleground state that borders Mexico and one that contended with a record influx of asylum seekers last year. Voters favor Trump on migration, and Harris has gone on offense to improve her standing on the issue and defuse a key line of political attack for her opponent.
She used her remarks to challenge Trump's own record on migration during his presidency, saying he did nothing to fix the legal immigration system or address an outdated asylum system, issues that have remained on her time in the White House. And she said he failed to solve a shortage of immigration judges and border agents.
Harris recounted how a sweeping bipartisan package aiming to overhaul the federal immigration system collapsed in Congress earlier this year after Trump urged top Republicans to oppose it.
“Donald Trump tanked it,” she said, so he could campaign on disorder at the border.
“He prefers to run on a problem instead of fixing a problem,” Harris added. “And the American people deserve a president who cares more about border security than playing political games and their personal political future.”
After the immigration legislation stalled, the Biden administration announced rules that bar migrants from being granted asylum when U.S. officials deem that the southern border is overwhelmed. Since then, arrests for illegal border crossings have fallen.
Harris' plan to exceed Biden's efforts at the border would include more serious criminal charges for people who repeatedly cross illegally and require asylum claims to be made at ports of entry.
She used her trip to remind voters about her work as attorney general of California in confronting crime along the border. She talked about helping to prosecute drug- and people-smuggling gangs that operated transnationally and at the border.
The vice president’s trip to Douglas thrusts the issue of immigration into the brightest spotlight yet less than six weeks before Election Day.
Trump didn’t wait for her to arrive there before pushing back. He pointed Friday to purported data about criminals entering the U.S. illegally in a bid to link Harris to violent crimes committed by migrants. In a scathing diatribe, he said “blood is on her hands.”
“These are hard, tough, vicious criminals that are free to roam in our country,” Trump said at a manufacturing plant in Michigan.
Earlier in the week, he told voters that “when Kamala speaks about the border, her credibility is less than zero."
The Trump campaign has also countered with TV ads deriding the vice president as a failed “border czar.”
“Under Harris, over 10 million illegally here,” said one spot. However, estimates on how many people have entered the country illegally since the start of the Biden administration in 2021 vary widely.
Harris has tried to shed the title of border czar, saying her assignment was to tackle the “root causes” of migration from three Central American nations — El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras — that were responsible for a significant share of border crossers.
As vice president, Harris has taken a long-term approach to an immediate problem, helping persuade multinational corporations and Latin American businesses to invest in the region. That, she argued, would create jobs and give locals more reasons to stay home rather than take the arduous trek north.
Still, Trump has continued to decry an “invasion” of border crossers.
Douglas, where Harris appeared, is an overwhelmingly Democratic border town in GOP-dominated Cochise County, where the Republicans on the board of supervisors are facing criminal charges for refusing to certify the 2022 election results. Trump was in the area last month, using a remote stretch of border wall and a pile of steel beams to draw a contrast between himself and Harris on border security.
The town of 16,000 people has strong ties to its much larger neighbor, Agua Prieta, Mexico, and a busy port of entry that’s slated for a long-sought upgrade. Many locals are as concerned with making legal border crossings more efficient as they are with combatting illegal ones.

Rebel News refuses to Cower after Billboard Truck attacked by Rabid Activists:
Our video truck is getting some upgrades. And it will soon be better than ever as we continue our fight for free speech
Astute viewers of Rebel News are likely aware that we were covering duelling protests at Toronto’s Queen’s Park last week.
One group consisted of concerned parents who want schools to embrace education over indoctrination. The other group consisted of radicalized “spirit unicorns” and their Antifa allies. Pop quiz: can you possibly guess which group came across as civil and articulate and which group came across as unhinged maniacs?

Granted, one does have the right to be profane and vulgar in public. But nobody has the right to throw a brick at some one or some thing for whatever reason.
But that’s exactly what happened last Friday thanks to some unhinged member of the Rainbow Mafia. He/she/it (they/them was wearing a disguise) threw a brick at the truck, damaging the video screen. So much for the loony left’s slogan of “love trumps hate”.

By way of background, Rebel News purchased this truck after it was getting too hard to rent similar trucks post-Oct. 7. The Pro-Hamas hooligans also tend to get violent as they chant for genocide, so much so that this had the effect of drivers declining assignments when it came to covering hate rallies staged by the new-age Hitler Youth Movement. But if the goal of the violent and censorious thugs on the far left is to intimidate Rebel News into silence, well, that’s not going to happen.
Thank goodness our brave driver was not harmed. But the truck’s video-screen was indeed damaged by that brick. Which is why the truck is now getting some TLC at a repair shop.
As well, we are also fortifying the video screens with security film for added protection. And we are installing several 360-degree surveillance cameras to catch any future vandals engaging in nefarious activity.
And make no mistake: if and when we are attacked again, the police will be notified. If the cops can’t be bothered to lay charges, then we will seek remedies in civil court. Our message to the thugs and the vandals is this: if you attack us, we’re going to fight back.
Bottom line: we consider the attack on our truck to be yet another freedom of speech issue in this year of censorship. On one hand, the government wants to shut down free speech with legislation; on the other hand, hand, street thugs want to shut down free speech with violence and vandalism. We find both camps to be odious, outrageous and egregious.

Chris Coons (D-DE), faced tough questions about the lack of transparency surrounding Harris’s economic policies.
Co-host Andrew Ross Sorkin asked a fundamental question that all voters should be asking: Should Americans know specific details about her tax and regulatory plans before heading to the polls?

Even more troubling, Coons admitted that Harris will be “keeping a lot of the same policies and agendas” as President Joe Biden—a presidency marked by economic stagnation, skyrocketing inflation, and regulatory overreach that has crushed small businesses and hurt American workers.
Harris’s refusal to provide specific details about her economic plans is not just political caution—it’s a calculated strategy. What we do know about Harris’s “vision” is that it includes a continuation of Biden’s disastrous economic policies. Coons’s revelation that Harris plans to “keep a lot of the same policies and agendas” as Biden should send shivers down the spine of every American voter. Under Biden’s watch, the American economy has suffered from high inflation, stagnant wages, and regulatory burdens that have stifled innovation and job creation. Harris, rather than distancing herself from these failures, seems poised to double down on them.

Yet Harris has been a staunch supporter of these types of regulations throughout her career. Now, as a presidential candidate, she claims she wants to partner with the private sector to build more housing. Coons’s claim that Harris is focused on building middle-class wealth is perhaps the most disingenuous part of his defense. Under Biden’s presidency, the middle class has suffered immensely. As voters head to the polls in 2024, they deserve to know exactly what kind of economic policies Kamala Harris will pursue if elected president. Secret Service confesses to putting Trump in the crosshairs:
Americans knew there was something fishy going on behind the scenes. But this is scary.
And now Secret Service confessed to putting Trump in the crosshairs.
The Secret Service is facing serious questions after a whistleblower from local law enforcement revealed that agents allegedly claimed they would secure the rooftop where a gunman targeted former President Donald Trump during his July 13 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
A local officer involved in securing the event has come forward with troubling details, according to Rep. Cory Mills, a Florida Republican leading an independent GOP investigation into what appears to be a major security failure.
“The Secret Service said they were covering that roof,” Rep. Mills told The Washington Times.
Mills, along with other GOP colleagues, is leading the charge to get to the bottom of what went wrong. He plans to hold a public forum featuring testimony from the whistleblower, who works in a local Emergency Service Unit (ESU) that provided security at the rally.
“The new whistleblower we have is actually on one of the ESU teams, and he’ll be able to paint a different picture of why it wasn’t the ESU, but it was actually the Secret Service who determined the perimeter bubble,” Mills said.
This revelation raises serious concerns about the Secret Service’s handling of the event. The shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, managed to climb onto the rooftop of the AGR building near the rally site, using HVAC equipment and a pipe, before firing multiple rounds.
Crooks hit Trump in the ear and killed a rallygoer while injuring two others before being shot and killed by a Secret Service sniper.
Despite this tragic event, Rep. Mills’ investigation suggests there may have been crucial security assets that were offered by local law enforcement but rejected by the Secret Service.
“We know that they refused the surveillance drone capabilities, we know they refused compatible communications,” Mills noted.
These revelations are prompting questions about the competence and reliability of the agencies tasked with protecting Trump. Given the severity of the situation, Mills and his colleagues—including Reps. Eli Crane, Andy Biggs, Matt Gaetz, and Chip Roy—are determined to expose the truth.
Mills’ group has already held one public forum, featuring testimony from a SWAT officer who worked at the rally and a former Secret Service agent. Now, the whistleblower’s testimony will be crucial in shining a light on the questionable decisions made that day.
Mills’ group was formed out of frustration after he and Crane, the only members of Congress with sniper training, were left off the official House task force investigating the assassination attempt. Despite being sidelined, Mills’ independent group is sharing its findings with the task force, which has subpoena power to dig deeper.
“This isn’t trying to run an independent investigation where we hold information,” Mills emphasized. “We just want to basically put the pressure on them to do what’s necessary to be able to get answers.”
The House task force, meanwhile, is preparing to release an interim report on its Butler investigation, with a public hearing scheduled for Thursday.
The hearing is expected to focus on the Secret Service’s reliance on state and local law enforcement, a critical issue given the failures revealed by the whistleblower.
Adding to the pressure, the task force and Mills’ group are also investigating a second assassination attempt against Trump, which occurred just days ago in West Palm Beach, Florida. In this case, a gunman armed with an SKS-style rifle was stopped by the Secret Service before he could fire any shots.
Mills pointed to the similarities between the Butler and Florida incidents, highlighting the failure to secure the perimeter. “It shows two vital-like errors, which is the fact that they don’t clear their perimeter,” Mills said. The Florida would-be assassin was just 500 yards away—well within the rifle’s range.
Mills expressed more confidence in Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is leading an independent investigation into the latest attempt on Trump’s life. Many Republicans, including Mills, have voiced skepticism about the FBI and Secret Service’s ability to conduct a thorough and honest investigation into either incident.
As security failures continue to mount, it’s clear that more scrutiny is needed to protect Trump from future threats. Mills and his team are committed to holding the responsible parties accountable and ensuring that nothing like this happens again.
