Judge Overturns results of Democrat Primary in Connecticut Mayoral Race after allegations of Voter Fraud:
A judge has overturned the results of the Democrat primary for the mayoral race in Bridgeport, Connecticut, after viewing compelling evidence of voter fraud. His ruling creates chaos for the general election that is scheduled to take place in just a few days.
On September 12, incumbent Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim narrowly edged out challenger John Gomes by a mere 251-vote margin in the Democrat primary. Primary election day ballots favored Gomes, but after absentee ballots were tallied later that evening, Ganim prevailed over Gomes, 4,212 to 3,961.
Within days, the Gomes camp cried foul, posting a video to Facebook that appeared to show Wanda Geter-Pataky, a city employee and a long-standing supporter of Mayor Ganim, stuffing a ballot box outside City Hall with absentee ballots. The Gomes campaign later issued similar allegations against Eneida Martinez, a former city council member who also supports Ganim.
Gomes then filed a lawsuit in Fairfield Judicial District Superior Court to contest the results of the primary election, naming Ganim as well as city clerk Charles Clemons, Bridgeport Democratic registrar of voters Patricia Howard, and Connecticut Secretary of State Stephanie Thomas as defendants.
On Wednesday, Judge William Clark sided with plaintiff Gomes, citing "significant mishandling of ballots by partisans" such as Geter-Pataky and Martinez. In fact, the sheer volume of evidence was "perhaps unprecedented in the State of Connecticut in an election case," the judge said.
"The evidence here has involved hundreds of applications and ballots, thousands of hours of video of drop boxes, testimony of partisan actors, assertion of privilege against self-incrimination by Ms. Geter-Pataky and Ms. Martinez, and analysis of ballot numbers, particularly in the voting Districts linked to Ms. Geter-Pataky and Ms. Martinez," Judge Clark wrote in the 37-page ruling.
Mayor Ganim was also called to testify in the case and said he was "shocked" by the evidence, including an 18-minute video of possible absentee ballot fraud committed by his supporters. "Mr. Ganim was ... correct to be 'shocked' at what he saw on the video clips. ... The videos are shocking to the court and should be shocking to all the parties," Judge Clark concluded.
The judge, however, was not convinced that improperly stamped absentee ballots from the primary election should have been tossed, as Gomes' attorney, Bill Bloss, had recommended. An assistant town clerk testified that the official stamp with city clerk Charles Clemons' signature on it had broken, and while Judge Clark indicated that the city should have taken steps to rectify the issue of the broken stamp more quickly, he added that "the court recognizes the practical realities on the ground."
Though Clark refused to nullify the absentee ballots without Clemons' stamped signature, he did rule that a new Democratic mayoral primary election was warranted. He then gave attorneys 10 days to confer with state and local officials regarding a new primary election.
While Gomes is celebrating Clark's ruling as "a victory for the people of Bridgeport," that victory complicates the general election for Bridgeport mayor scheduled for November 7. Ganim will still be listed as the Democratic nominee on the ballot, while Gomes will be listed as an independent candidate. David Herz will be listed as the Republican.
Lamond Daniels is also running for mayor of Bridgeport, and his campaign website refers to him as a Democrat. It's unclear what party affiliation he will have on the ballot, if he appears on the ballot at all.
Bloss, Gomes' attorney, speculated to the CT Examiner that the city will likely host another primary election in December if and only if Mayor Ganim wins re-election. If one of the other candidates prevails in the general election, the city will likely scrap the primary election do-over.
Bloss also suggested that Geter-Pataky and Martinez may even face criminal prosecution at some point. That would hardly be a first for Geter-Pataky. She already will likely face criminal charges for alleged voter fraud in connection with the 2019 Bridgeport mayoral primary race, a race that Ganim barely won after a significant absentee ballot dump late in the evening pushed him over the top.
"I got your back, Mayor," Geter-Pataky once assured Ganim in a video of a mayoral campaign event.
And Ganim himself, who was first elected Bridgeport mayor in 1991, served seven years in prison for accepting bribes and kickbacks while in office. After he was released, he won his old mayoral seat back in 2015, followed by re-election four years later.
Ganim is still considering whether to appeal Clark's ruling. In the meantime, he is encouraging local residents to get out the vote in the general election next week.

James Comer: Biden Received $40k in ‘Laundered China’ Money

Last week, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) announced that he had found a $200,000 payment from James Biden to Joe Biden that could not be traced back to Joe Biden's bank account.
This week, he dropped another bombshell on this front, with another "loan repayment" of $40,000 from James to Joe, which Comer now believes is "laundered China money."

The Biden Payments
The $200,000 payment revealed last week was pretty fishy from the outset. Family or not, with that sum of money, you would think there would be a paper trail of some sort.
The fact that a check from Joe's account or an incoming deposit for that amount was not found in Comer's account is beyond suspicious.
The second payment is just as shady, with a $40,000 payment being made to Joe Biden from James Biden, again, labeled as a "loan repayment." This time, the payment coincides with Hunter Biden dispensing money to family members after receiving a payment from his Chinese business interests.

Comer dropped a bombshell allegation on Wednesday.
"Remember when Joe Biden told the American people that his son didn't make money in China? Well, not only did he lie about his son Hunter making money in China, but it also turns out that $40,000 in laundered China money landed in Joe Biden's bank account in the form of a personal check.
"And the Oversight Committee has it."
Comer linked the deal to the Chinese Communist Party-linked CEFC that Hunter was doing business with at the time, saying that Joe Biden "benefited from his family's shady deal."
This actually goes back to the threatening text message that Hunter had sent his Chinese business associates, writing to Henry Zhao:
"I am sitting here with my father, and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled.
"And, Z, if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang or the chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction."
Zhao then replied:
"CEFC is willing to cooperate with the family."
Several days later, a $5 million payment was made.

My Two Cents…
So, it is not exactly a secret that I think Biden is corrupt, which dates back to how he set up his first Senate campaign with his sister, with no experience, being named his campaign manager, and his brother, with no experience, being named his treasurer.
Biden was doing what I would argue more than 50% of Congress is doing, in hiring family members to tap into that campaign cash.
This, however, is a whole new level of corruption that we suspected but were never able to prove.
There is always a money trail, however, and it now looks like Comer finally found it, as well as the method they were using to cover the payments.
At the very least, Biden has violated tax laws regarding interest payments that should have been collected on the family loan, but I doubt anyone reading this believes these were actually family loans.
Biden is now in a position where the stern denials will no longer work. He has to produce paperwork showing these initial loans, or the only logical conclusion is that this money train was a one-way street.

Official “Secret” Israeli Document Revealed:
Expel All Palestinians from Gaza, Israeli Intelligence Ministry
An Intelligence Ministry document revealed by Local Call and +972 shows how the idea of population transfer to the Sinai is reaching official discussions.
The Israeli Ministry of Intelligence is recommending the forcible and permanent transfer of the Gaza Strip’s 2.2 million Palestinian residents to Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, according to an official document revealed in full for the first time by +972’s partner site Local Call yesterday.
The 10-page document, dated Oct. 13, 2023, bears the logo of the Intelligence Ministry — a small governmental body that produces policy research and shares its proposals with intelligence agencies, the army, and other ministries. It assesses three options regarding the future of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip in the framework of the current war, and recommends a full population transfer as its preferred course of action. It also calls on Israel to enlist the international community in support of this endeavor. The document, whose authenticity was confirmed by the ministry, has been translated into English in full here on +972.
The existence of the document does not necessarily indicate that its recommendations are being considered by Israel’s defense establishment. Despite its name, the Intelligence Ministry is not directly responsible for any intelligence body, but rather independently prepares studies and policy papers that are distributed to the Israeli government and security agencies for review, but are not binding. The ministry’s annual budget is NIS 25 million and its influence is considered relatively small. It is currently headed by Gila Gamliel, a member of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud Party.
However, the fact that an Israeli government ministry has prepared such a detailed proposal amid a large-scale military offensive on the Gaza Strip, following Hamas’ deadly assault and massacres in southern Israeli communities on Oct. 7, reflects how the idea of forced population transfer is being raised to the level of official policy discussions. Fears of such plans — which would constitute a serious war crime under international law — have grown in recent weeks, especially after the Israeli army ordered about 1 million Palestinians to evacuate the northern Gaza Strip ahead of escalating bombardment and incremental ground incursions.
The document recommends that Israel act to “evacuate the civilian population to Sinai” during the war; establish tent cities and later more permanent cities in the northern Sinai that will absorb the expelled population; and then create “a sterile zone of several kilometers … within Egypt, and [prevent] the return of the population to activities/residences near the border with Israel.” At the same time, governments around the world, led by the United States, must be mobilized to implement the move.
A source in the Intelligence Ministry confirmed to Local Call/+972 that the document was authentic, that it was distributed to the defense establishment by the ministry’s policy division, and “was not supposed to reach the media.”
‘Make It Clear There Is No Hope of Returning’
The document unequivocally and explicitly recommends transferring Palestinian civilians from Gaza as the desired outcome of the war. The existence of the plan was first reported last week in the Israeli business newspaper Calcalist, and the full text of the document is published and translated here [see Annex below for the full document].
The transfer plan is divided into several stages.
In the first stage, action must be taken so that the population of Gaza “evacuates south,” while the air strikes focus on the northern Gaza Strip.
In the second stage, a ground incursion into Gaza will begin, leading to the occupation of the entire Strip from north to south, and the “cleansing of the underground bunkers of Hamas fighters.”
Concurrently with the re-occupation of Gaza, Palestinian civilians will be moved into Egyptian territory, and not be allowed to return. “It is important to leave the travel routes to the south open to enable the evacuation of the civilian population toward Rafah,” the document states.
According to an official in the Intelligence Ministry, the ministry’s personnel stand behind these recommendations. The source stressed that the ministry’s research is “not based on military intelligence” and serves only as a basis for discussions within the government.
The document proposes promoting a campaign targeting Palestinian civilians in Gaza that will “motivate them to accept this plan” and lead them to give up their land. “The messages should revolve around the loss of land, making it clear that there is no hope of returning to the territories Israel will soon occupy, whether or not that is true. The image needs to be, ‘Allah made sure you lose this land because of Hamas’ leadership — there is no choice but to move to another place with the assistance of your Muslim brothers,’” the document reads.
In addition, the document encourages the government to lead a public campaign in the Western world to promote the transfer plan “in a way that does not incite or vilify Israel.” This would be done by presenting the expulsion of Gaza’s population as a humanitarian necessity to win over international support, by arguing that relocation will lead to “fewer casualties among the civilian population compared to the expected casualties if the population remains.”
The document also says that the United States should be enlisted in the process to exert pressure on Egypt to absorb the Palestinian residents of Gaza, and that other European countries — particularly Greece and Spain — as well as Canada should help absorb and settle the Palestinian refugees. The Ministry of Intelligence said the document was not yet formally distributed to U.S. officials, but only to the Israeli government and security agencies.
A Wider Policy Discussion
Last week, the Misgav Institute, a right-wing think tank headed by Meir Ben-Shabbat, a close associate of Prime Minister Netanyahu and a former head of Israel’s National Security Council, published a position paper that similarly called for the forced transfer of Gaza’s population to the Sinai. The institute recently deleted the post from Twitter and from its website after drawing strong international censure.
The deleted study was written by Amir Weitmann, a Likud activist and, according to sources familiar with him, a close associate of Intelligence Minister Gila Gamliel. Last week, on a Facebook page named “The Plan to Rehabilitate Gaza in Egypt,” Weitmann interviewed Likud MK Ariel Kallner, who told him that “the solution you propose, to move the population to Egypt, is a logical and necessary solution.”
This is not the only connection between the Likud, the Ministry of Intelligence, and the right-wing think tank. About a month ago, the Ministry of Intelligence pledged to transfer about NIS 1 million from its budget to the Misgav Institute to conduct research on Arab countries. If the Misgav Institute was somehow involved in drafting the ministry’s Gaza transfer recommendations, its logo, at least, does not appear on the document.
Sources in the Ministry of Intelligence said that the Gaza report was an independent study conducted by the ministry’s policy division, without the cooperation of an external party, but they did confirm that the ministry had recently begun working with the Misgav Institute, stressing that the government body works with various research groups with diverse political agendas. The Misgav Institute has not yet responded to queries for this article.
In addition, the Intelligence Ministry’s document was first leaked in a small internal WhatsApp group of right-wing activists who, together with Likud advocate Whiteman, promote the reestablishment of Israeli settlements in the Gaza Strip and the transfer of Palestinians living there.
According to one of these activists, the Intelligence Ministry document reached them through the mediation of a “Likud source,” and its public distribution is related to an attempt to find out whether “the Israeli public is ready to accept ideas of transfer from Gaza.”
The Preferred Option
The chances of fully implementing such a plan, which would amount to the total ethnic cleansing of the Gaza Strip, are negligible in many respects.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has declared that he strongly opposes opening the Rafah Crossing to absorb the Palestinian population from Gaza.
He argued that the displacement of Palestinians to the Sinai would threaten Israeli peace with Egypt and warned that it would lead to Palestinians using Egyptian territory as a base to continue armed confrontations with Israel. A similar plan has been presented in the past by Israeli officials, and until now, it too had not matured into a serious policy discussion.
Moreover, after weeks of reports that the United States was attempting to raise the possibility of moving Palestinians to Egypt as part of a “humanitarian corridor,” U.S. President Joe Biden asserted yesterday that he and Sisi were committed to “ensuring that Palestinians in Gaza are not displaced to Egypt or any other nation.”

The Intelligence Ministry document states that Egypt will have an “obligation under international law to allow the passage of the population,” and that the United States can contribute to the process by “exerting pressure on Egypt, Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE to contribute to the initiative, either with resources or with the absorption of displaced persons.” It also proposes conducting a dedicated public campaign aimed at the Arab world, with a “focus on the message of assisting the Palestinian brothers and rehabilitating them, even at the price of a tone that rebukes or even harms Israel.”
Finally, the document notes that the “large-scale migration” of non-combatants from combat zones is a “natural and sought-after outcome” that has also occurred in Syria, Afghanistan, and Ukraine, concluding that only the expulsion of the Palestinian population will constitute “an appropriate response [that] will enable the creation of significant deterrence in the entire region.”
The document presents two other options regarding what to do with the residents of Gaza the day after the war. The first is to allow the Palestinian Authority (PA), headed by the Fatah party in the occupied West Bank, to rule Gaza under Israeli auspices. The second is to cultivate another “local Arab authority” as an alternative to Hamas. Both options, the document claims, are undesirable for Israel from a strategic and security perspective, and will not provide a sufficient message of deterrence, especially to Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The authors of the study also noted that bringing the PA into Gaza was the most dangerous option of the three, because it could lead to the establishment of a Palestinian state.
“The division between the Palestinian population in Judea and Samaria and Gaza is one of the main obstacles today preventing the establishment of a Palestinian state. It is inconceivable that the outcome of this attack [Hamas’ Oct. 7 massacres] will be an unprecedented victory for the Palestinian national movement and a path to the creation of a Palestinian state,” the document said.
The document further argues that a model of Israeli military rule and PA civilian rule, as exists in the West Bank, is likely to fail in Gaza.
“There is no way to maintain an effective military occupation in Gaza only on the basis of military presence without [Israeli] settlements, and within a short time there will be internal Israeli and international pressure for withdrawal.”
The authors added that in such a situation, the State of Israel “will be considered a colonial power with an occupying army — similar to the current situation in Judea and Samaria, but even worse.” They noted that the PA has low legitimacy among the Palestinian public, and that based on Israel’s previous experience of handing over control of Gaza to the PA and Hamas’ eventual takeover, Israel should not “repeat the same mistake that led to the current situation.”
The other option, the formation of a local Arab leadership to replace Hamas, is undesirable according to the document, because there are no local opposition movements to Hamas and a new leadership is liable to be more radical. “The most plausible scenario is … not an ideological shift but rather the emergence of new, possibly even more extreme, Islamist movements,” it said. The authors mention the necessity of “creating ideological change” in the Palestinian population through a process of what it likens to “de-Nazification,” requiring Israel to “dictate the school curricula and enforce its use for an entire generation.”
Finally, the document argued that if Gaza’s population remained in the strip, there would be “many Arab casualties” during the anticipated re-occupation of the territory, which would damage Israel’s international image even more than expelling the population. For all these reasons, the Ministry of Intelligence’s recommendation is to promote the permanent transfer of all Palestinian civilians from Gaza to the Sinai.
The Defense Ministry, the army spokesperson’s office, and the Misgav Institute did not yet respond to +972’s requests for comment by the time of this article’s publication. Any responses received will be added here.

· Every Palestinian child knows that if presidential elections were held today, the terrorist group Hamas would win. The most recent PSR poll, published one month before the Hamas massacre, showed that 58% of the Palestinians would vote for Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh as opposed to 37% for Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. The poll also showed that 58% of the Palestinian public supports "armed confrontations and intifada" against Israel.
· Abbas and the Palestinian Authority have proven again and again that they hate Israel as much, if not more, than Hamas hates Israel.
· There is a dangerously false idea that Abbas or any other Palestinian leader would rein in Hamas in the West Bank. Abbas has no problem with Hamas operating in the West Bank, as long as the terrorist group is targeting Israel, and not him or the Palestinian Authority leadership.... but everyone who lives in the West Bank and Gaza Strip knows that this is a lethal lie.
· Creating a Palestinian state in the West Bank would mean turning it into another Iran-led base for Jihad against Jews.
· What appears to be missed by many in the West is that it is Israel's security and civilian presence in the West Bank that is preventing Hamas, or groups such as Al Qaeda or ISIS, from seizing control of the area.
· It is high time for Biden and other Western leaders to stop pushing delusional ideas that will quickly lead to a repeat of the October 7 massacre. How many Jewish babies must be beheaded or baked alive in an oven, one wonders, for them to see that Palestinian leaders have radicalized their people against Israel to a point where they brag about slaughtering Jews with their own hands.
Since Hamas's October 7 massacre, thousands of Palestinians from the West Bank have been taking to the streets almost on a daily basis to voice support for the Iran-backed terrorist group based in the Gaza Strip.
This is the same West Bank that the Biden administration and many Westerners are hoping will be part of a future Palestinian state next to Israel. Those who continue to promote the dangerous idea of a "two-state solution" are ignoring the fact that Hamas is sitting not only in the Gaza Strip, but in the West Bank as well.
Bizarrely, President Joe Biden and some Western leaders are continuing to talk about the need for establishing a sovereign and independent Palestinian state, even after the Hamas atrocities in October. What they are actually saying is: Now that Hamas has used the Gaza Strip to invade Israel and slaughter Jews, let's give this Islamist terror group the West Bank so it, too, can use it to butcher Jews.
The pro-Hamas demonstrations show that the terrorist group is popular among the Palestinians, including those living in the West Bank. The demonstrations also serve as a reminder that a large number of Palestinians support terrorism against Israel, including sickening crimes such as rape, beheadings, torture and burning women and children alive.
Recent public opinion polls conducted by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research (PSR) have shown that most Palestinians support Hamas and the "armed struggle" (murder) against Israel. Every Palestinian child knows that if presidential elections were held today, the terrorist group Hamas would win. The most recent PSR poll, published one month before the Hamas massacre, showed that 58% of the Palestinians would vote for Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh as opposed to 37% for Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. The poll also showed that 58% of the Palestinian public supports "armed confrontations and intifada" against Israel.
The pro-Hamas demonstrations have been taking place mostly in those areas of the West Bank that are controlled by the Palestinian Authority (PA), headed by Abbas. Although Abbas and other senior PA leaders hate Hamas, they are not doing anything to stop the Palestinians living under their rule from taking to the streets to celebrate the murder of 1,400 Israelis and the wounding of more than 5,000 others during the October 7 carnage.
It is worth noting that in 2007, Hamas expelled the PA from the Gaza Strip after killing hundreds of Abbas loyalists, some of whom were dragged through the streets and lynched, while others were thrown from rooftops of tall buildings.
By failing to curb the pro-Hamas demonstrations, the Palestinian Authority is not only complicit in incitement to murder Jews, but also acting against its own interests by emboldening its rivals in Hamas. One of the reasons why the PA is not taking any measures to stop the pro-Hamas demonstrations is because its leaders themselves are also involved in the campaign of incitement against Israel and replacing it with an Islamic state.
Abbas's anti-Israel and antisemitic rhetoric sometimes appears to surpass that of his rivals in Hamas. One month before the Hamas massacre, Abbas repeated a number of antisemitic canards he has uttered over the years, including that Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler had Jews slaughtered because of their "social role" as moneylenders, not because of his racist enmity toward Jews.
In a speech broadcast on Palestine TV on September 3, Abbas told leaders of his ruling Fatah faction during a meeting in Ramallah:
"They say that Hitler killed the Jews because they were Jews and that Europe hated the Jews because they were Jews. Not true. It was clearly explained that [the Europeans] fought [the Jews] because of their social role, and not their religion... The [Europeans] fought against these people because of their role in society, which had to do with usury, money, and so on and so forth."
It is also worth noting that it was Abbas who initiated the campaign of incitement against Israel surrounding visits by Jewish individuals and groups to Jerusalem's Temple Mount, the Western Wall of which is all that is left of the Jewish Temples (destroyed in 586 BCE and 70 CE), and which is Judaism's holiest site.
In a notorious speech in 2015, Abbas falsely accused Jews who visit their holy Temple Mount of desecrating the Al-Aqsa Mosque, located on the Temple Mount:
"We salute every drop of blood spilled for the sake of Jerusalem. This blood is clean, pure blood, shed for the sake of Allah... Every martyr will be placed in Paradise, and all the wounded will be rewarded by Allah... The Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher are ours. They are all ours, and they [Jews] have no right to defile them with their filthy feet. "
Abbas's blood libel was interpreted by many Palestinians as a license to murder Jews. In fact, shortly after Abbas made the accusation in 2015, Palestinians embarked on a spree of terrorism in which dozens of Jews were murdered in stabbing and car-ramming attacks.
Abbas and the Palestinian Authority have proven again and again that they hate Israel as much, if not more, than Hamas hates Israel.
The PA leadership has been waging an unceasing campaign to vilify Israel and demonize Jews, especially in the international arena. The Palestinian leadership has repeatedly accused Israel of "genocide," "war crimes," ethnic cleansing," and "apartheid." It has also consistently threatened to file "war crimes" charges against Israelis with the International Criminal Court.
For decades, Abbas has used every available podium, including the United Nations General Assembly, to spread messages of hate and lies against Israel. His ultimate goal has been to undermine and delegitimize Israel to a point where Israel would be completely isolated in the international arena. His daily incitement against Israel has not only empowered Hamas, but also promoted antisemitism around the world.
Since the Hamas pogrom last month, Abbas has refrained from condemning the terrorist group. Instead, he has chosen to hold Israel responsible for the ensuing war. Essentially, Abbas is saying that Israel has no right to defend itself in the face of Hamas's atrocities. He is also implying that he sees no problem with Hamas having sent thousands of terrorists to invade Israel and brutally murdered innocent Israeli civilians.
There is a dangerously false idea that Abbas or any other Palestinian leader would rein in Hamas in the West Bank. Abbas has no problem with Hamas operating in the West Bank, as long as the terrorist group is targeting Israel, and not him or the Palestinian Authority leadership. That is why he has permitted Hamas supporters to march in the streets of Ramallah, Nablus, Jenin and other West Bank cities and chant slogans in favor of Hamas.
On October 29, dozens of schoolgirls marched in Jenin, chanting: "We are the daughter of [Hamas arch-terrorist Mohammed] Deif" and "We want Jihad [holy war], we want to die for the sake of Allah," and "We want to blow up the head of the Zionists." At other demonstrations by Hamas supporters, some of which were held not far from Abbas's office, Palestinians chanted: "Anyone who has a rifle, should either shoot a Jew or give it to Hamas."
The idea of establishing a Palestinian state in the West Bank means turning this area into another launching pad for attacking Israel and slaughtering Jewish men, women and children. US President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Anthony Blinken can continue to argue as much as they want that Hamas does not represent the Palestinians, but everyone who lives in the West Bank and Gaza Strip knows that this is a lethal lie. Every Palestinian is aware of, and often admires, the pro-Hamas demonstrations that have been taking place in the West Bank since October 7.
Every Palestinian sees, and often admires, the Hamas-affiliated armed groups that emerged in the West Bank over the past two years. Every Palestinian has also seen how Hamas won student council elections at major universities in the West Bank, including Birzeit University and An-Najah University. Every Palestinian, in addition, sees how the Palestinian Authority is unwilling to combat Hamas and other terrorist groups in the West Bank.
What appears to be missed by many in the West is that it is Israel's security and civilian presence in the West Bank that is preventing Hamas, or groups such as Al Qaeda or ISIS, from seizing control of the area. What they also do not seem to realize is that Abbas is in power in the West Bank thanks to Israel's presence there. Without Israel's presence, Hamas would have taken control of the West Bank a long time ago. Creating a Palestinian state in the West Bank would mean turning it into another Iran-led base for Jihad against Jews.
It is high time for Biden and other Western leaders to stop pushing delusional ideas that will quickly lead to a repeat of the October 7 massacre. How many Jewish babies must be beheaded or baked alive in an oven, one wonders, for them to see that Palestinian leaders have radicalized their people against Israel to a point where they brag about slaughtering Jews with their own hands.

Supreme Court appears split during arguments on process of return of seized property in civil asset forfeiture cases involving innocent people:
The practice of civil asset forfeiture, in which law enforcement agencies seize possession of cash or property suspected of being connected to criminal activity, is one that has been wildly abused in some instances and is a legitimate issue of concern when the individual from whom the property was seized is innocent or was never even charged with any crime.
On Monday, the Supreme Court heard oral arguments on the matter of civil asset forfeiture, at least with regard to the due process for innocent individuals seeking a timely return of their seized property, but the justices appeared to be split on the issue, according to the New York Times.
Some of the justices referenced the well-documented history of abuse of the civil asset forfeiture practice and seemed sympathetic to the plight of innocent owners trying desperately to get their property back quickly, while other justices seemed to indicate that the current drawn-out processes in place for the return of seized property were sufficient.
Process for returning property seized from innocent owners:
The case heard Monday at the Supreme Court involves two women from Alabama, Halima Culley and Lena Sutton, who lent vehicles they owned to others -- Culley to her college-aged son and Sutton to a friend -- that were both seized by local police in separate incidents involving the drivers of those cars being pulled over and found to be in possession of illegal drugs.
It took more than a year for the women to finally have their vehicles returned to them even though neither had been arrested or faced criminal charges nor were even aware of the illicit drug habits of the individuals who had been driving the vehicles.
Given the arduous and lengthy process in Alabama for innocent property owners to have their seized property returned, the two women filed a class action federal lawsuit that, over the course of several years, finally ended up in the Supreme Court.
At issue in the case of Culley v. Marshall is the question of what sort of due process should be applied in a "post-seizure probable-cause hearing prior to a statutory judicial-forfeiture proceeding," with the two options being a Sixth Amendment-based "speedy trial" test as established in the Supreme Court's 1972 Barker v. Wingo decision or a more involved three-part test of various considerations that comes from the court's 1976 Mathews v. Eldridge ruling.
"We know there are abuses of the forfeiture system:"
During Monday's oral arguments, according to the Times, Justice Neil Gorsuch said, "Clearly there are some jurisdictions that are using civil forfeiture as funding mechanisms," in reference to abuse of the practice to bolster law enforcement agency budgets, but seemed unsure as to whether this particular case was one "that presents the due process problem that we should be worried about?"
Gorsuch would go on to later wonder aloud, "How do we write a narrow opinion that does no harm here?"
Justice Sonia Sotomayor had no such qualms, per the Times, as she insisted that civil asset forfeiture abuse was "systematic" and said, "We know there are abuses of the forfeiture system. We know it because it’s been documented throughout the country repeatedly."
"These cases are most important for one group of people: innocent owners," she later added. "Because they are people who claim they didn’t know about the criminal activity. Many of these cases involve parents with teenage or close-to-teenage children involved in drug activity. The ones that don’t may involve spouses or friends."
Justice Elena Kagen also expressed skepticism about the arduous and time-consuming and often expensive processes that innocent owners like Culley and Sutton had to endure in order to get their vehicles eventually returned, and said, "There are real problems here, and those problems would be solved if you got a really quick probable cause determination. Why should we not do that?"
A serious problem that some justices don't fully see:
According to Slate, it is estimated that at least $68.8 billion worth of property has been seized by law enforcement nationwide since 2000, and some 25 states, including Alabama, allow the law enforcement agencies that seized the property to keep it or sell it for 100% profit that is added to their budget -- a clear and perverse incentive for agencies to seize as much property as possible and make it as difficult as possible for owners, including those who are completely innocent, to get that seized property returned in a timely manner.
One might think that this would be an easy decision for the Supreme Court -- of course innocent people should have their seized property swiftly returned -- but some justices, such as Justice Samuel Alito, remain focused on the original intent of civil asset forfeiture -- starving criminals and gangs of ill-gotten gains -- and downplay the significance of the abuses of the practice by believing that the current processes for return are adequate to protect constitutional rights.

Washington Post story on Pumpkin Spice:
Sorry to start your day off on such tragic news, but The Washington Post let us know this month that you can't even enjoy the most basic of "basic white girl" treats without a side of white guilt.
You, like I, probably thought "Oh, The Babylon Bee has gotten a little TOO on the nose with this one" before you realized that, no, this is a genuine story from one of the nation's most prestigious newspapers.
In 2023, WaPo discovered the cutthroat spice trade of previous centuries and has now decided that we, who had nothing to do with it, should probably feel bad about it and drink our PSLs (Pumpkin Spice Lattes) with a hint more bitterness.
"Some spices are part of a natural course of trade," said Sarah Wassberg Johnson, a food historian. "It just happens that the main spices in pumpkin spice are fraught with colonizer histories."
"Fraught with colonizer histories" is journalist/academic code for the history of evil white people (the only evil people there are or have been).
Because nutmeg used to be rare and the Dutch East India Trading Company conquered an island for access to the spice in the 1600s, it "complicates" our enjoyment of pumpkin spice, which includes nutmeg, today.
Even The Post acknowledges that this is a RIDICULOUS story, as they refute the entire point in this paragraph:
"It's true that if we didn't consume food that hadn't been touched by slavery and Indigenous displacement, we wouldn't be eating a lot of food," Johnson said. "But whenever foods enter the pop culture lexicon the way pumpkin spice has in the U.S., it's important to acknowledge how it reached us."
Slavery has existed for all of human history, so all food came from slavery, migration, and conquest/colonization in some way. Go read this history of pasta sometime. Foods like sweet corn, tomatoes, and potatoes were taken to Europe from the Americas. Do I need to profess an "acknowledgement" every time I eat sit down to dinner, WaPo
I guess it's important to acknowledge it when it comes to pumpkin spice ESPECIALLY. They don't say explicitly what those reasons are, other than being a pop culture phenomenon.
(But I can guess what the reasons are :)
